The game genre is an open world survival horror shooter which features
zombies. There are many existing games that are an influence, some we
have chosen to include in our presentation, like games such as Dying Light,
an open world horror in which you can parkour around the map dodging
and killing zombies.
Another game which we included is the Last of Us, which is an action
adventure survival horror that also features zombies. This game topped the
charts and was rated one of the greatest game of all time.
We also chose to use Dead Island as an example because it is another open
world survival horror that involves a huge zombie outbreak.
Finally, we chose to use Dead Rising as it incorporates much of what we
want in our cut scene, plenty of zombies and an action packed zombie
killing adventure.

One of the characters will be called Martin Reaver. His Alias is Sonar. He is
stereotypically described as being a strong, masculine leader.
Another character is Andrew Reaver. His Alias is Sharpshot. He is stereotypically
described as being the hero who likes to show off.
Hunter and Jack Reaver share similar characteristics. They are both skilled in melee
and hunting, which is why Jack’s Alias is Razor.
Little is known about General Marshall, who leads Apollo 10 and the soldiers in Fort
Dawn. However he has saved over 1000 lives in the battlefield.
Finally, Laura Soft is the only hacker in this story, which is where she got the Alias
Micro from. She is stereotyped as being the brains of the squad.
In this scene, Fort Dawn, which is the base of operations for Apollo 10 and the
hundreds of other soldiers and platoon, receives reports of a zombie outbreak that
is spreading really fast and is approaching Fort Dawn. Apollo 10 needs to gear up
and fight off the zombie horde while trying to stop the source. The cut scene takes
place when Apollo 10 begin talking about going home.
Colin:
At the beginning of the cut scene, there will not be any sounds produced.
However, when Andrew, Hunter and General Marshall Storm into the
barrack, the music starts and adds to the tension, with the music getting
louder and the sounds of tambourines clashing in the background.
When General Marshall gives the code black, the music gets even louder
and more tension is built up. The sound effects then start to get calmer as
Andrew starts talking about the zombie outbreak as the team are now
aware of what is happening.
When Apollo 10 exits the barrack, the music turns into a sort of ‘victory’
music as if the war has already been won.
For our sound production, we will use Foley artistry. We will be recording
most sounds via the studio and apply it to the scene. This is the end of the
presentation and we’d be happy to answer any questions if you have any.
