I am a conscientious self-motivated individual and feel I am more than capable to take on the
responsibility of almost any position immediately, and have the enthusiasm and determination to
ensure that I make a success of it. Throughout my career I have continually tried to better

Lead Instrument Technician: WoodGroup (Dana Triton FPSO) Nov 2014 to Present
Ensure maximum uptime in all aspects of Instrumentation based plant equipment through the
management of routine maintenance, and the adaptability of the team to respond to breakdown
activities. Provide technical support for control system maintenance and continuous improvement
activity. Coach and develop Instrument Trainees & Improvers on all aspects of the instrument trade and
on all aspects of their career development and training plans. Continual monitoring of the performance
of the Instrument Team through bi-Annual performance related assessments. Responsible for the
management of Vendor/ad-hoc Instrument & Control scopes whilst on-board. Focal point for any

last three & a half years carrying out Routine, Corrective & Breakdown maintenance on all types of
Instrumentation. I have also gained a good working knowledge of the Emergency shutdown equipment,
including Fire & Gas, Smoke & Toxic detection equipment, & the HVAC Shutdown dampers.
Various Training Courses completed to date: BOSIET, COMPEX, Offshore Medical, MIET,
ISSOW PA & IA, Leg Competent, H2S Competent, Swagelok small bore pipework, Hydratight flange
tightening, CIP (competent instrument person gained on Dunlin, Shearwater & Triton platforms),
Electrical Safety Rules, Mechanical Isolations, Pressure Testing, Emergency Response Team

As the Principal Process Control Engineer, I was responsible for providing technical and project support
to all site Instrumentation/Automation departments. Train and develop people in order to support all

Instrument Tradesman: GlaxoSmithKline Aug 1993 to Sept 2001
During this time I have further developed my skills with time spent on Installation, maintenance and
breakdown support of process instrumentation and automated control systems, including hardware and
software maintenance and modification. Gaining a vast knowledge over a broad range of
instrumentation types that includes, however is not restricted to:
Pressure measurement equipment including static and differential pressure measurement methods
also vacuum pressure transmitters.
Temperature measurement equipment including thermocouples, RTD’s and mercury filled
temperature gauges.
Flow instrumentation including ultrasonic flow transmitters and the use of differential pressure to
calculate and measure flow.
Level instrumentation including microwave level transmitters, differential and head pressure
methods, ultrasonic level transducers.
Safety circuits including trip units, trip logic, trip amplifiers, switches and various marshalling
equipment.
Experience maintaining on-line analysers such as; dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH and
ammonia analysers.
