Cogito ergo sum
1. While most people will argue that we are indefinitely alive no matter what, that our bodies are just a skin and flesh shell covering what is our true selves known as the soul, I however do not believe that we are neither alive nor dead, that we exist but we also don’t. No one in human history has come up with any possible way to believe that we exist. Some say that the tenth dimension is the dimension of life, where as the first 3 are well known, first being a dot, second being flat lives and third being what we see, with depth and height to various degrees. In all retrospect, to doubt is to believe there are other ways. This is what makes us humans, what makes us “Homo Sapiens”. “Homo sapiens” are full of doubt as it’s in our nature as it is to love, to hate, or to feel feelings. We cannot prove that this is all real, because it could very well be a dream, which is why I say that we exist but we also don’t. Take the action movie “The Matrix” the movie is based around a cyber world, a world where what we do, what we know the things we see are all controlled by a robot. This could be what our very life is. We could be born genetically created by robots. Created into a test tube and grown in a pod. While we think we are living a “real” and fulfilling life we could just be growing in a pod, and we die once we’ve been used to our fullest capabilities. Now the matrix is like a game world in some cases, if you knew what you were doing you could do anything. Cheating the system is even very possible. Many internet sites are becoming more and more popular because you can take control of a different person, like a new alias, create them to how you wanted them to look and act. A couple examples of this are the MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) of World of Warcraft (WoW). Where you buy the game, pay an online subscription fee and you can create as many different characters as you want, then train them in different skills, some of which can be related back to real life, such as hunting, fishing, cooking mining etc. But world of Warcraft isn’t the only one to do this, another very popular game series “The Sims” you can create a character (adolescence, adult, senior) and take control of their life, get a job, build a house, meet other characters and even reproduce. So having never played one of these games how is it so different then what we call our existence, could we not be just another character on “The Sims” or “WoW”? Most people say because we are infinitely smarter than these characters that people create, but as technology progress the developers have been creating a better and better A.I system, that make these characters think, act, and respond smarter then what they used to. As I stated before, humanity exists in some ways but doesn’t in others. <br />
