This document provides an overview of the May 2015 orientation for Code Louisville. It discusses the goal of gaining junior developer skills through front end and back end development tracks. Students will work on individual projects to reinforce learning and are encouraged to contribute to open source projects. Meetups will include scrum standups and working on projects with mentor help. Next steps include reviewing tasks, starting a project idea, learning Git/GitHub, and connecting on Slack. The orientation also covers career readiness through mock interviews, developing an advising plan, and job search assistance based on portfolio quality. Tips are given to connect with developer communities and contribute to open source.

6. In-person Meetup Structure
Scrum Standup – 15-30 minutes
– What did you accomplish last week?
– What will you accomplish this week?
– What are actionable roadblocks that will get in
your way? (mentors assign Asana tasks to CL
leadership)
Remaining Time – (remainder of 2 hours)
– Seek mentors’ help in getting “unstuck” with code
– Work on projects!
