Project management for the installation of a new
substation
Installation of a Square D Power Dry II
substation
The transformer is 12,470 primary voltage and
480 secondary voltage
The feeder breaker unit has a 4000 amp main
breaker and four 1600 amp feeder breakers
14. A complete refurbishment and redesign of a
161kV substation yard
All of the existing 161kV insulators will be
replaced with new
The three existing three OCB’s will be removed
and replaced with six SF6 GCB’s
All of the old vertical break switches in the yard
will be replaced
The new yard design will reduce the number of
switches from 16 to 10 with a design for switches
to be exercised regularly without power
interruption.
