2. The simple present tense of a verb is
used to express:
1. A general truth or a scientific fact
2. A permanent condition
3. A habitual action
4. A present action or event
5. A future event or action

3. Example:
I wake up at 6 a.m. I eat breakfast at
at 6:30. I attend flag ceremony at 7:15:
I start class at 7:30.

4. Three forms of present tense:
1. Ordinary form – is formed by the
base form of the verb except in the
third person singular where s or es is
added to the base form.

5. Examples:
He sings.
They sing.
I sing.

12. 2. Progressive form – is formed by
am, is, are + -ing form of the main
verb.
