ICT 8
Image resolution is typically described in PPI, which refers to how many pixels are displayed per
inch of an image.
11. Pixels
Image, Pictures, Photo, and Resolution
ICT 8
The word pixel means picture element. A pixel is normally in the form of a square and is the smallest
element of the picture. A megapixel is one million pixels, so the higher pixels your image holds, the
more detailed it is.
12. High
Resolution
Low Resolution
Image, Pictures, Photo, and Resolution
ICT 8
Higher resolutions mean that there more pixels per inch (PPI), resulting in more pixel information and creating a
high-quality, crisp image.
Images with lower resolutions have fewer pixels, and if those few pixels are too large (usually when an image is
stretched), they can become visible like the image below.
14. Grid
Grid is a way to arrange your photos in a special grid frame that has a number of rows and columns. It is
one type of the classic photo collages. That means you can add your photos into the grid and make them
into one picture.
Use grids to frame and resize your images.

16. Filters
An image filter is a technique through which size, colors, shading and other characteristics
of an image are altered. An image filter is used to transform the image using different
graphical editing techniques. Image filters are usually done through graphic design and
editing software.
• Make an image crisper and cleaner by
adjusting the brightness, contrast, and
