3. TipsoftheWeek
● It’s really easy to find the things you
don’t want to do, so try everything you
can.
● Ask yourself, without the worries of money
or peer/family pressure, what do you want
to do? You are the only one who can answer
that!
● You all are either 17-19, it’s a long life.
Why do something you don’t enjoy?

10. Reading:4 Steps To Choosing a College Major
"Most people are unsure when starting out. Where they end up
isn't a direct result of their major; it's the result of a
meandering process. Their major - whether they stuck with it
or applied it in new ways - was the start of channeling
their interests, values and skills into work that made the
struggles and hard work it took to get there worth it."
“A major isn’t a lifelong sentence; it’s a jimping-off
point”
11. Reading:4 Steps To Choosing a College Major
1. Separate your goals from other people’s goals for you
a. What do you want to do?
2. Forget passion; follow an interest
a. “There’s no epiphany; it’s a collection of small
decisions that move you step by tiny step”
3. Put your decisions in real-world context
a. “Determine whether expectations match reality”
4. Yes, you do have to be good at it. Be flexible.
a. Be flexible to a major and a career and how it won’t
always fit into the exact path you imagined.

"The trouble is nobody can predict where the jobs will be -
not the employers, not the schools, not the government
officials who are making such loud calls for vocational
training."
"Focusing on a very specific field also means that you miss
out on courses that might broaden your abilities."
