Veer Kunwar Singh University (VKSU) is a public state University. It was established in 1992 and has been recognized by UGC, AICTE and NCTE. The University is situated at Arrah, Bihar, India. The university offers various full time Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral level courses in the disciplines of Arts, Science, Commerce and Humanities. 3. Veer Kunwar Singh University (VKSU) Popularly known as
VKSU is a fruit of the bifurcation of Magadh University.
VKSU has since then performed steadily and bing a state
university has seen few changes in the administrative part.
The university is situated at Arrah and has colleges affiliated
and constituent to it with the region. Moreover, the university
has also produced few notable candidates like Sunil Pandey
(politician), Saroj Singh (politician), and Pawan Singh( actor
and singer).

6. The University derives its name from the freedom fighter Veer
Kunwar Singh and leader of the movement Indian Rebellion
1857. Moreover, the formation of the University goes back to
1992. The University was established in 1992 however it was
considered a University only by the amendment to the act of
1976 in 1992. Furthermore, since then the university has
contributed to the development of its constituent colleges.
Notably, the university also has developed itself in many
ways and aims to bring about further changes to fit and stand
out in the era of everchanging societal demands.
Likewise, the university has in its past has made affiliations
with as many as four colleges and has contributed steadily
towards 17 constituent colleges. One must also note that
most of the colleges were earlier a part of Magadh University
and at are part present VKS University. It should also be
notable that Veer Kumar University is a result of the
bifurcation of the Magadh University.
HISTORY

7. The campus of the university is in Arrah ( Ara). Some would
debate of the campus being Urban however when comparing it
to national standards find the location quite semi-urban and
developing. The campus is quite big and houses facilities like
administrative and academic blocks. The campus presently
does not enjoy the liberty of being a cutting-edge provider of
facilities however it is quite basic and satisfactory to the taste
of locals. However, Dr. Devi Prasad Tiwari envisions putting
the college on the global map soon. Furthermore, near the
campus are facilities like restaurants, eateries, hospitals,
banks,s and a police station.
The campus is a two-hour drive from Jayprakash International
airport and the Patna railway junction is also around 2 hours
from the campus. However, the Ara railway junction is hardly 2
Km away from the campus.

8. The university has five departments namely Social
science, Commerce, Humanities Science, and
Vocationallearnings department. Altogether these
departments offer as many as 21 programs and
444 courses. Therefore the programs are B.Ed,
B.Sc, M.Sc, MBA, MCA, BCA, B.Com, B.Lib, B.Sc,
M.A. M.Com, B.A., B.Tech, B.Ped, M.Ed, UG
Diploma, and few certificate courses. Admission-

9. The university does have a placement cell that works to get
students placed. The latest placement records show that the
highest salary in MBA stood at 3.5 Lac ( a dip of 1 lac from the
previous year) moreover the highest BCA salary and BBA
salary respectively stood at 2.5 and 2.9 Lac. In the M.Sc
program highest alary of 2018-20 batch stood at 2.8 lac. Lastly
highest b.com salary stood at 2.9 lac.

The guesthouse is also available at the university visiting,
parents or relative of students, faculties, staffs can stay at the
guest house. However, the stay is not free and needs a
payment of Rs. 150 for a day.

The girl’s hostel that is the Nootans women’s hostel is an on-
campus hostel that houses the residential girl students of the
university. The hostel is strictly maintained and discipline is
always in place. Moreover, the hostel has neat, hygienic,
and clean facilities available. Clean drinking water and
furniture like cot for each inmate as well as table, chair,
ceiling fan with regulator and reasonable light fitting are
available at the university. The university has a set guideline
for residents of the hostel and it expects students to follow
the guidelines.
Another hostel for other students the VKS’U hostel is also
available at the university, the hostel features a sports
ground as well.

Resident students of the hostel get to eat at the mess at pre-
determined times. The mess is neat clean and hygienic.
Moreover, the mess is headed by the mess secretaries
along with a warden. Furthermore, ample dining space is
also available at the MESS. The mess meals are the same
throughout the year one can check the full menu available
on the college website. However, during festivals, special
food is prepared.
Computer Centre
The computer center of the university provides a host of
services. Services like plagiarism checking are easily
available for students who are going to write their thesis and
need to check plagiarism. Moreover, the computer center
also accepts continuation reports and has a biometric
attendance system for smooth functioning.
