impact wear, fretting wear at low and elevated temperatures and good corrosion resistance.
Description:
Thermal spray coatings are used for repair of shipboard components. Thermal spray procedure Work Instruction
BHS600 utilizes a chrome carbide chrome nickel spray powder applied to carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel
and cast iron substrates. Thermal spray coatings are used for restoration, thermal protection, and surface
modification, as well as protection against corrosion and erosion.

Service Restrictions:
Unit Certificationrnay be required when components of ABS Class vessels are thermally spray coated using this
product. Otherwise, unit certification is not required for this product. No dependence may be placed on sprayed
deposits for tensile or torsional strength. May not be used on parts subject to flame or similar intense heat in service.
If the manufacturer or purchaser requests an ABS Certificate for compliance with a specification or standard, the
specification or standard, including inspection standards and tolerances, must be clearly defined.

This Product Design Assessment (PDA) Certificate 10-HS558823-PDA, dated 28JOctJ20 10 remains valid until
27/0cti2015 or until the Rules or specifications used in the assessment are revised (whichever occurs first).
This PDA is intended for a product to be installed on an ABS classed vessel, MODU or facility which is in existence
or under contract for construction on the date ofthe ABS Rules or specifications used to evaluate the Product.
Use ofthe Product 011 an ABS classed vessel, MODU or facility which is contracted after the validity date of the
ABS Rules and specifications used to evaluate the Product, will require re-evaluation of the PDA.
Use of the Product for non ABS classed vessels, MODUs or facilities is to be to an agreement between the
manufacturer and intended client.
