Professional Experience: 2.5 years as a toolmaker, afterwards fifteen years active duty in the
US Navy as a nuclear qualified MM (ELT), with PPWS, ESWS, and EAWS. Three years as a
civilian Radiological Controls Technician while a Navy Civilian. Seven months as an Electro-
mechanical Technician at the BD Infusion Therapy Systems plant.
BD Infusion Therapy Systems: MAR 2016-Present
*Title: Electro-Mechanical Technician
*Responsible for one of two night shift crews and troubleshooting, maintaining and
providing oversight for preventive maintenance on a multitude of machines, many of
which cost the company over $4M to procure.
*Trained and supervised all operators on the shift.
Norfolk Naval Shipyard: (Civilian) JUL 2012- OCT 2015
*Title: Radiological Controls Technician (GS-10)
*Supervised personnel in the performance of intermediate and overhaul nuclear
maintenance and repair on nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines.
*Performed radioactive and contamination surveys on hundreds of packages to ensure
proper disposal through correct waste streams, including those which had hazardous
constituents.
*Monitored personnel to ensure none were nearing exposure limits and had proper
qualification to enter high radiation areas.
United States Navy: (Active duty) APR 1997 - MAY 2012
*Enlisted into the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program.
*Graduated in the top half of the class, and went on to excel in Engineering Laboratory
Technician school.
*Was made LPO in first tour on USS Enterprise, went on to shore duty at NRMD
(Nuclear Regional Maintenance Depot) Norfolk.
*While at NRMD, I made up for a manning shortfall to volunteer to qualify Radiation
Health Technician. Not only did I qualify with the highest score of any military member
ever, but saved the government well over $100K by being able to release some items for
regular disposal.
*USS Eisenhower was the next sea tour, while Divisional LPO as well as acting LCPO
for a time (Leading Chief Petty Officer), and Departmental Career Counselor.
*Damage Control Training Team instructor and one of two Master ELT’s onboard.
2. McQuade Industries, INC.: OCT 1994 -MAR 1997
*Title: Toolmaker.
*Responsible for taking blueprints from Ford and GM to manufacture short production
runs of indexable carbide cutting tools for automotive parts production, as well as
repairing of broken tooling to save the customers money.
*Autonomous duty except for any annealing or heat treating required, which was
completed off-site.
