Cover Letter
Carrie’s Pet Resort
892 West Baker Highway, Douglas, GA, 31533
Joy Vickers
Colony Bank
625 West Ward Street, Douglas, GA, 31533
December 1, 2016
Dear Mrs. Vickers,
I am requesting a business loan of $120,000. I have experience in this industry including my
associate’s degree in Business Management, my experience throughout my childhood and
adulthood in raising animals and caring for them, and my numerous jobs that have given me
experience as a: cashier, secretary and legal secretary, and website manager.
The market for my business is to create a pet resort for customers who need a vacation away
from home without their pets or a business trip that doesn’t allow pets. In the pet resort, I want to
be able to provide services for grooming, training, boarding, being able to care for and play with
the pets, and pet supplies for the customer to buy. I want to be able to provide a caring and
friendly atmosphere for my customer and their pets. I also want to be able to sell the products I
will be using on the animals, so the customers can buy extra things they need, such as shampoo,
nail clippers, and/or pet food.
The competition includes having to compete with other small business that are caring for pets,
and other pet-sitters. I will also be competing against stores such as PetSmart or Walmart that
sell pet products, as I myself will be selling the best care products for my pets.
I am investing $50,000 of my own money into the down-payment of the building and start-up
costs. The building I’m buying has this value $180,000. This loan will help me meet my business
targets, which are to reach sales of $20,000 per month and increase profits to $10,000 per month.
With this loan and in conjunction with this loan, I will make a number of modifications or
changes to my current business in order to reach those targets, such as increasing staff,
expanding my business, and buying more or cheaper inventory.
If you have any questions, please contact me at ctatum1@students.sgsc.edu, or call me at 912-
592-5739.
Sincerely,
Carrie E. Tatum
