Meatless Meal #7 !! Vegetarian !! Crispy Pressed Tofu with Garlic and Thyme !! Project for AP Environmental Science ( APES ) Thank you ! :)

3. *NOTE:
We used thyme in
place of mint.

4. Get as much
water out of
the tofu as
you can!

5. Start with
garlic…
Then salt…
Then thyme
(or mint)….

6. Add in green
onions, red pepper
flakes, along with
the zest and juice
of a lemon

8. I marinated
for an hour to
really make
sure the tofu
absorbed the
sauce!

9. Wipe off some of the marinade so
it doesn’t burn too much while
cooking. Don’t worry, we’ll add
more later!

10. This is where the
pressing comes
in….use a plate
to push down on
the tofu while
cooking
Remove from
stove when
golden brown!

15. This meal was phenomenal! The tofu came out perfectly and it tasted amazing. Not
to mention, the tofu actually looked and tasted a lot like chicken while eating it.
How’s that for a meat substitute? The recipe was super easy in that it only had a
few ingredients and it did not take long at all, despite the time for marinating. My
family absolutely loved this meal and that being said it will definitely be made
again in my kitchen some time soon!
