Personal Training Internship Program
The Department of Campus Recreation is teaming up with the Kinesiology Department to offer a
great learning and employment opportunity to NKU students who would like to become a Personal Trainer.
Students who apply and are accepted into the Personal Training Internship Program will receive partial
or full payment for their Certified Personal Trainer Exam in exchange for agreement to work a minimum
of 2 semesters for the Department of Campus Recreation as a Personal Trainer.
BENEFITS OF INTERNSHIP
• Receive partial or full payment for CPT in exchange for agreement to work a minimum of 2 semester
for the Campus Recreation Center
• Gain experience as a personal trainer for a diverse population of clients
• Receive free training and professional development
• Personal Trainer hourly rate of $15/hour.
application requirements
• Has completed the academic classes listed below
• Submit a resume and cover letter
• Participate in a formal interview with the Fitness & Personal Training Coordinator
• Take and pass the provided personal trainer tester exam
• Provide a basic workout plan and take the Coordinator through the program as if they were the client

Once the student has been entered into the internship program, the Campus Recreation Center will
provide partial or full payment for the student to take the Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) exam. Once
the student has passed the exam, they will be eligible for employment with the Department of Campus
Recreation as a Personal Trainer.

• ACSM-CPT
