  2. 2. <ul><li>WHO is LAPE??? </li></ul><ul><li>Independent modern sports University: fully integrated in the family of the European Universities. </li></ul><ul><li>University with Undergraduate, Master’s and Doctoral studies for sport coaching, physical education, sport recreation and tourism, sport management, physiotherapy (etc.) study programmes. </li></ul><ul><li>FITNESS programme consist from: </li></ul><ul><li>28 credits for Fitness specialization and 10 credits for Fitness specialization internship. </li></ul>Study Period: 4 years (Bacherol degree) Li thuanian Academy of Physical Education

  6. 6. <ul><li>No fitness instructor qualification. </li></ul><ul><li>No communication between fitness clubs (in employers, employees level). </li></ul><ul><li>No communication with delegates of government, scholastic institutions, public health services, etc. </li></ul><ul><li>No sector action standards. </li></ul><ul><li>No common value system. </li></ul><ul><li>No database with LTU fitness clubs and employers registration. </li></ul><ul><li>No database about process (conferences, events, training courses) running in LTU or EU fitness sector. </li></ul><ul><li>No real system to make certain and coordinate qualification of instructors, trainers and other personal in fitness sector. </li></ul><ul><li>Training institution in LTU ( universities ) don’t adapt and don’t deliver the skills that the industry and employers want and expect. </li></ul>Our problems in Fitness sector

Since Lithuania‘s accession to the EU, rapidly changing requirements encourage organizations and employees to improve and expand their competences constantly by creating better conditions to participate in the fitness market and to enhance the quality of health instructors’ work. Continuous education is both important to the instructors for the career purposes and the health centres to be able to compete in the market by offering high quality services. Benefits of EHFA Accreditation Kiek jis sugeba atlikti vieną ar kitą darbą, ar geba nuolat tobulėti, ar jo turima kompetencija leidžia jam būti lanksčiam darbo rinkoje? Where and how have a person got qualification (what training institution, work place)? What a person knows and is able to do in the certain fitness occupation? Is he able to improve? Does his competence allow to be flexible at work place?
  9. 9. <ul><li>Was established a new institution - Sveikatingumo akademija ( Fitness Academy ) in association with LAPE. </li></ul><ul><li>Was created a new fitness training programme (nonformal). </li></ul><ul><li>This programme was accreditated in 4 th of June (2010): </li></ul><ul><li>EQF 3 Level Fitness Instructor </li></ul><ul><li> EQF 3 Level Group Fitness Instructor </li></ul><ul><li>EQF 4 Level Personal Trainer. </li></ul>What was done? Was made agreement for creation of new fitness training programme. </li></ul><ul><li>Lectures and discussions with academic staff and students – to introduce the newest fitness instructor standards, EHFA, EREPS, EA-Fitness project. </li></ul><ul><li>Nonofficial m eetings with S port government , Health Council and members of medical and public health society about fitness sector integration to health prevention and rehabilitation programs. </li></ul><ul><li>Discussions and presentations of EU Fitness trends in Lithuania countryside community. </li></ul><ul><li>Common project to promote physical activity together with Latvian and Lithuanian Fitness clubs – “Be active, Latvia!” “Be active, Lithuania!” (24-25 th September). </li></ul>Benefits of EHFA Accreditation Dissemination activities:
