What’s the value?
The summary plan description for an employer-sponsored health care plan defines dependent
eligibility for the plan. CBIZ has an experienced team of professionals capable of delivering a
cost-effective dependent eligibility study. A study that validates dependent eligibility can provide
assurance that the plan sponsor has met its fiduciary duties and may reduce plan risk and

A dependent eligibility study ensures that employees who claim dependents on the employer-
sponsored health plan are truly eligible dependents based on the definition of a dependent as
outlined in the Plan Document/Summary Plan Description.
