2. DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS AWARDS PROGRAM
The true measure of an institute’s or university’s progress can be found in
the achievements of its alumni. Sharda Group of Institutions more than 15
years old now and it is known to develop leaders in many fields of
endeavor. A vast number of SGI alumni have gained unique distinction
through success in their professions, service to the industries and
contribution to their communities. The Central Alumni & Corporate
Relations Cell (CACRC) and Sharda Alumni Association-Reminiscences
(SAAR) have established the Distinguished Alumni Award program to
honor outstanding former students of SGI and to celebrate the
achievements made by them in their respective field of expertise.
PURPOSE & PHILOSOPHY:
The purpose of the DAA program is:-
To recognize the alumni of each constituent colleges of Sharda Group
of Institutions for their outstanding achievements and contributions
to society.
To honor the alumni of each constituent colleges of Sharda Group of
Institutions for their individual accomplishments, affiliations and
successful careers.
To express our gratitude towards the alumnus who have benefited
the college and honored the legacy of excellence at Sharda Group of
Institutions.
The DAA program is not only to honor its recipients; it is also further to
illustrate the great value of the academic programs and student
involvement at Sharda Group of Institutions. This program will ultimately
increase the pride of all former students, current lot of students, staff and
faculty for their College or Institute. This program will recognize those
goodwill ambassadors of SGI who are setting great examples for their
3. young fellow SGites and indeed inspiring them to carry forward the great
legacy of SGI.
OUTLINE OF DAA PROGRAM
The Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA) will be presented annually by
each of the constituent college of SGI to its alumni in recognition of their
outstanding achievements. The award shall be presented during the
Annual Alumni Meets of respective colleges. Each year Central Alumni &
Corporate Relations Cell shall request individual nominations from alumni
and then an evaluation committee will short list maximum of 10 to 12
alumni who will be honored for their outstanding achievements in their
respective fields of expertise.
Nominations can be made for outstanding achievements in various
pursuits under the following categories:
Category A Academic Excellence
Category B Professional Excellence
Category C Technology & Innovation Excellence
Category D Entrepreneurial & Managerial Excellence
Category E Excellence in other walks of life
(Sports/Social Service/Music/Literature/Arts etc.)
4. The Evaluation Committee for the Award, as approved by the Chief
Patrons of Sharda Alumni Association- Reminiscences, will comprise of the
following members:
Directors of respective colleges
Deans (Student Affairs, Academic Affairs & Faculty Affairs)
HOD’s of various departments
Non-alumnus faculty representatives
Coordinator, CACRC
ELIGIBLE NOMINEES:
Should have enrolled and passed full time course at any of the 4
constituent colleges of SGI.
Should have submitted his/her nomination for award with full proof
documents as prescribed by CACRC (SAAR)
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING NOMINATIONS:
Nominations will be accepted using the following guidelines:
1. The Central Alumni & Corporate Relations Cell will send a DAA
Nomination Form to all alumni, faculty & staff of SGI. The
nominations will be accepted when an alumni or proposer submit the
duly filled nomination form aklong with supporting documents to
the CACRC office representatives.
2. In additions to the DAA Nomination Form, nominators are
encouraged to provide supporting items that further distinguish the
nomine. Such items include,
Resume/Curriculum Vitae for the individual
References (Recommendation letters/ Certificates/ Published
material)
3. One nomination per individual will be considered.
4. Nomination forms will be held for each individual for a period of 1
year only.
5. No limitation will be placed for the total number of nominations
accepted for consideration.
6. The name of nominator will not be disclosed.
5. 7. Judges’ decisions are final on all matters and no correspondence will
be entered into.
8. If during any point of time, it is found that the awarded alumni has
presented fake documents in support of his candidature or anything
so will be disqualified and hence, will not be nominated in future as
well.
9. The judging panel reserves the right to disqualify any entry which
they consider, in their sole discretion, to be in breach of the Awards
criteria.
10.Entries which are incomplete or incorrectly completed may be
disqualified.
11.Entrants who will be finalized shall be notified by email well before
alumni meet (i.e. date of Award function)
Important Note: These awards will be given for outstanding
achievements and no compromises diminishing the significance of the
awards will be made.
