My Review On Zojirushi NS–WAC 10 Rice Cooker and Warmer– The Recipe For Divinely Delicious Rice
Quite recently, I felt the need for a rice cooker. Since I need to make rice on daily basis, I decided that it is time I get a rice cooker and get done with
the task easily and avoid all the hassle. I always thought that buying something as simple as a rice machine will be easy but when I started searching
the market aisles, I was in for a big surprise. There were so many make and models all claiming to be better than the other and I had no idea which one
to go for.
Thankfully, I have been very lucky as I decided on a Zojirushi ns–wac 10. Efficient and effective, I found my Zojirushi rice cooker a real convenience.
Never before had I known that...show more content...
It made all the adjustments itself and I was saved from all the nuisance of constantly checking how the rice is cooking. The result, needless to say, was
always perfectly cooked rice. Moreover it also has a clock and delay timer to further sweeten the deal.
Dent–Resistant Body
A very telling factor of the quality of any product is its body. Same goes for Zojirushi's rice cooker. Not only it is attractive in looks, it also has a
dent–resistant body. I have using it for almost two years now and it still looks as good as new. This dent– resistant body guarantees prolonged usage.
Capacity:
Believed to be the best rice cooker and steamer by many, the Zojirushi rice cooker can accommodate upto 5.5 cups of rice. Not only is the rice
well–cooked, it is healthy as well. The capacity that this rice cooker offers gives it an edge because unlike others, with it you can easily cook for a
group of 13–15 people.
'Keep Warm' Mode:
An ingenious design, Zojirushi Micom uses a 'keep warm' mode. This makes this rice cooker an intelligent tool. Once the rice is cooked, it stops
heating to prevent the rice from overcooking and shifts to the 'keep warm' mode so that whenever you wish to serve it, you get it warm and fresh.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Rice
What Are The Healthiest Types of Rice And Should You Eat To Lose More Weight
With so much information offered for free anywhere it is quite a challenge to determine which one holds truth and valuable to you. When it comes to
weight loss, you do not need to complicate things. Shredding some excess pounds is often as easy as eating right and getting active. Although limiting
calories is an important element of the most successful weight loss programs. The type of food you choose to consume is also essential.
Rice, a gluten–free grain is relatively affordable and a versatile ingredient to various recipes. This can be a great option when you are trying to lose
weight, if and only if you pick the right kind.
Rice consists of 3 elements: the germ,...show more content...
Take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of some of the most popular types of rice.
Let's take a look at the pros and cons of several popular types.
1.The Wild Rice
Although it appears and grows like rice, but from a botanical standpoint, wild rice is not actually rice. This is native to North America and is a seed
of an aquatic grass, which is traditionally harvested via canoe by the indigenous people. Many of today's wild rice displayed on store shelves has been
tamed already, and grown in man–made paddies.
However, you can still locate some lake–grown, hand–harvested, and organic wild rice in some specialty stores. This variety of rice delivers a
remarkable range of nutrients; magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, and B vitamins, which include the cancer–protective, foliate.
Wild rice has a smoky aroma and a chewy texture. Its nutty taste will definitely stand out when used in salads and soups. The only disadvantage is that
it will take up to an hour to cook. You should consider preparing a huge batch or soak the grains overnight. This method will minimize the cooking
time by

Got Rice? Essay
Every culture has its "staple" food. This is the food product that anchors each meal. For some cultures, it is meat and potatoes. However, for most of
the world, regardless of region, rice is the staple that is served most often. . It is "A food staple of half the planet's population" (Reynolds pg 1). But why
rice? Why not bread or potatoes as is common in western countries? Within nutrisional basic food pyramid, rice is part of the breads, cereal, rice
and pasta family. This family is the baseline foundation of human nutrition. Rice is a popular crop as it can be grown and cultivated fairly easily.
Rice is grown by individual families for their personal needs, or can be cultivated by large farms for supply to the world. Rice...show more content...
She would rinse the rice several times to remove all the excess starch and carefully measure both the rice and the water to get the proper
proportion. She would them steam the rice on the stove, vigilantly regulating the heat to make sure that not one kernel of rice burned or was
undercooked. I would watch as she would "Lower the heat and simmer the rice for about 20 minutes or until the rice has soaked up all the water"
(McCulloch 32). My Grandmother would then present her feast and nothing would make her happier than to hear the scraping of a fork or the click
of chopsticks on an empty plate or bowl. It was the unspoken rule that rice was served at least once a day and that no rice was left in the bowl as that
would bring bad luck.
My mother still recalls when she was a child and her friends would come to visit. They would think it odd that her family ate rice with every dinner.
She still describes eating American style meatloaf with Japanese steamed rice. My Grandma's ways still live on in our family as we cannot eat
meatloaf without rice, no potatoes allowed. Rice makes the flavor of the meat or whatever vegetable that is served with more distinctive and the
flavors don't compete with each other like they sometimes do with bread or potatoes.
What does rice really taste like? Rice is one of the hardest foods to describe. It is more of an addition than an actual flavor. When asked, most people
would compare the

RICE Injury Research Paper
RICE is an acronoymn used in cases of injury that is not neccessarily hospital/doctor worthy. RICE stands for Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation.
These four steps can prevent further injury and also ensure the injury does not worsen. Resting allows the injury to heal and prevents any worsening
conditions. The most recommended form of icing is with either an ice pack or ice massage. Icing should be done every 15–20 minutes every 3–4
hours. This helps to prevent swelling and temporary pain relief. Compression with an ACE bandage also helps to prevent swelling of the injury. The
injury should be eleveated above the heart to help avoid swelling as well,

Wild Rice In Aboriginal Culture
The popular interpretation of the words for wild rice (manoomin) as good berry or good seed "may reflect the deeper meaning of wild rice in
Aboriginal culture or recognize its nutritional properties" (Vennum 5). In addition to storytelling, the gift of manoomin has been acknowledged through
ceremony. A feast that featured the first harvest ofrice was held at the ricing camp, and wild rice was served at other ceremonies and family feasts
(Blegen 21). But it is also used as an everyday good and was eaten all year round, by itself or in stews, soups, not just at harvest or through the winter.

There are two main strains of rice. Indica grains are long and thin and are fluffy when cooked. These are more popular in northern
Europe. Japonica grains, popular in southern Europe, are shorter, more absorbent, and creamier when cooked. Spain and Italy have increased their
production of Indica rice, which has led to a decrease in European rice imports.
There are three primary use categories for the rice industry: processed food production (such as breakfast cereals), beer production, and direct
food use. Branding of rice in the direct food use category is important because most of the rice purchased in this category is consumed at home
after being purchased from food retailers. Direct food use rice can be subdivided into four primary rice types: white, parboiled, brown, and
precooked. White rice is the most popular retail rice in production and is the result of the final milling process, which can be refined to varying
degrees. The second most popular retail rice is parboiled white rice. It is prepared through many steps including a special milling, steam–cooking, and
drying process (there are over 40 steps in Gallo's parboiled rice process). Brown rice is milled similarly to white rice, but the bran layer is retained on
the rice kernel during the milling process. In response to consumer demands for convenience, precooked rice is

How Is Rice Used In Ancient China
In the middle yellow river region, north China has been known for millet farming and rice. In northern china it was to cold to farm rice so they
farmed millet instead of rice, They also boiled it as well and turned it into a type of porridge. Ancient Chinese Used to eat a lot of millet, 90 percent
of their diet was millet and the other 10 percent was rice, meat. The kind of meat that they use to eat was dog meat, horse meat, and pig meat. They
use to hunt and farm their food. They used pottery and make plates and bowls for their food. The use to have merchants and sell the foods like, millet,

RICE Method: A Case Study
This perspective was extremely interesting. I am the type of person who always questions the status of different modalities and life experiences,
but I do not one hundred percent believe everything that they were talking about. I do believe that we need to take out the rest aspect of the RICE
method, but I do not think the application of ice should be taken out. We as athletic trainers and physical therapist, use to POLICE method and the
biggest difference being the optimal loading aspect of the acronym. Without the optimal loading part of rehabilitation, this will cause the affected
area to become even more stiff and possible immobile for a while. The reason why I believe ice could be helpful in this situation is because ice can
be used for different things other than slowing down the process of inflammation. Inflammation is not a bad thing as we learned in class, but it can
cause pain and loss of range of motion, which could inhibit the use of that infected area and cause for a longer healing process. If the clinician used
ice on the affected area, that will cause that area to go numb, therefore the patient will not feel pain, thereby increasing the range of motion. Another
major use for ice is it decreases the process of secondary hypoxic injury. This issue of secondary hypoxic is a...show more content...
On the other hand of this, if we are using ice to slow down the inflammation process then I believe that we could have a problem. The guy in the video
never defined what he meant about the inflammation process because ice can help out with swelling/ edema because swelling/ edema may be a part of
the inflammation process, but it is not inflammation in itself. This argument or discussion could be settled with the simple definition or defining what
he believes inflammation to

Golden Rice : Pro, Pros And Cons Of Golden Food
There are, debatably, pros and cons of creation in any zone of life. Especially with Golden Rice, there are numerous nations that appear to be supporters
of the Golden Rice. With biogenetic building of rice, there is an expansion underway, financial incitement, and in addition, a reduction in starvation and
increment of beta–carotene. Many research has been conducted and debated on as to whether Golden Rice increases the sufficient effects of human
nutrition.
To begin, Golden Rice provides beta–carotene to individuals that are vitamin A deficient. The amount of beta–carotene in Golden rice does not
harmfully affect the human body. Golden Rice can adjust to and protect the development of various sorts of products, which means it helps to...show

This says a lot to me since I am a person that has a hypersensitive response to sustenance. With things being what they are, what reason would I need to
hurt myself by enabling them to consume this rice?
The genetically modified organism (GMOS) refers to the production of a crop or an animal whose genetic constitution has been altered by use of the
biotechnology to favor the development of the physiological characteristics, which facilitates the production of the desired yields (Beyer et al. 2002).
The creation of the genetically modified organisms includes the utilization of the logical techniques such as conceptive cloning and the recombinant
DNA innovation.
Golden rice has been altered through genetic building to create a type of vitamin A, known as beta–carotene. Beta–carotene is in charge of the golden
yellow color of the rice. White rice does not process the beta–carotene and subsequently, does not have the golden color. At the point when the
carotenoids in the golden rice are expended, they are either stored into fat tissue or changed over into vitamin A. The rice contains characteristic greasy
lipids which help in the assimilation of its carotenoids by the body. Different advantages of the golden rice incorporate the arrangement of the adequate
vitality to the body. The vitality originates from starch contained inside the rice. The qualities that are in charge of the

Rice by Manuel Arguilla
RICE by Manuel Arguilla Formalistic Approach The story "Rice" is a narrative story describing the situation of rice farmers and their family in
Hacienda Consuelo. It was when the social condition is only on the side of those in the higher class. At the beginning of the story you can actually feel
the dark or unpleasant feeling the characters is experiencing. Mang Pablo, the main character has three children – two of them are boys and a little girl
named Isabel. He is a thin dark man. Thin because of inadequate food especially this season when they have no harvest. He is dark in complexion
because of everyday farming under the heat of the sun. Her wife Sebia is also thin as indicated in the line "her skirts clung to her thin legs..." The...show

Ben Lucero first visits Cebu, his mother's hometown near Manila, when he travels there for her funeral. As a guest in the home of his wealthy and
powerful Aunt Clara, he finds himself disoriented by the unfamiliarity of Filipino life––especially when confronted by the spectacle of self–inflicted
crucifixion, a grisly local custom by which penitents attempt to placate the divine wrath––and overwhelmed by his sudden infatuation for Ellen, his
aunt's secretary. Gradually and belatedly, Ben discovers the forces and events that shaped his family and formed the silent, unknown background of his
life: the brutality of the Japanese occupation, the poverty and clannishness of Filipino life, the weird syncretism of the indigenous Catholicism, the
pervasive corruption of the island authorities. He flees to the security of his native Seattle, but there he finds himself haunted by his recollections of
Cebu, and impelled by circumstance to resolve the doubts he has experienced regarding his faith and identity. The novel starts when Ben arrived in the
Philippines and his reunion with his Aunt Clara. The first part talks about the history of Clara's friendship with Ben's mother and how Clara became
wealthy, how she rescued Remedios from the Japanese and how Remedios married Ben's father, Albert and moved to the States. It also tells more on

Salt stress results to stunted growth and reduced productivity of rice. Transcription factors like heat shock factors (HSFs) represents key controllers of
stress adaptation. Moreover, heat shock factors of the group A and B are clearly established as thermal and non–thermal stress controllers in many
plants. Therefore, this experiment aims at examining the functions of OsHsfC1b transcription factor in rice. There are several transcription factors that
work in rice, including MYB, NAC and bZIP, leading to regulation of the stress– responsive genes in the crop. In addition, Bahadur et al. (2015) reveal
that the Heat Shock factors (HSFs) are kind of transcription factors that are categorized into three groups: A, B and C. these groups of...show more

OsHsFa2e and OsHsf7, have been confirmed to functionally work in vivo. Transgenic crops, such as rice, with expressing OsHsfA2e are known to be
more tolerant to the heat and stress than any other plants.
BLAST search and multiple cycle alignment of OsHsfC1b (Os01g53220) show that homologous proteins are found in other monocots such as
sorghum, maize and Brachypodium, but also in the dicot Arabidopsis. In rice, OsHsfC1b shares highest similarity with OsHsfC1a, another member
of the four class C HSFs identified in rice (Arvidsson et al, 2008, p. 211). Proteins hold a well preserved N–terminal DNA– binding domains that has
four ОІ–sheets and О±–helices and a highly conserved oligomerization domain also known as HR–A/B domain. Putative nuclear localization signal
upstream of the oligomerization domain was found in all proteins (Gupta, Palma, & Corpas, 2016). A subcellular localization study was conducted to
confirm targeting of OsHsfC1b to the nucleus in Arabidopsis mesophyll cell protoplast.
Hypothesis
In this study, rice will be exposed to osmotic stress condition, whereby it will show: a higher accumulation of proline and soluble sugars, reduced
levels of MDA and minimized water loss rate compared to wild types of plant. Still, the stress–responsive gene OsHsfC1b will exhibit a significantly
higher expression levels in rice than in transgenic plants under similar environmental conditions. Although OsHsfC1b has been evaluated purposely for
its significance in drought

Agricultural is a major resources to Malaysia, especially the rice industry. Malaysia rice production keep rising from 2.14MT in 2000 to 2.63 tons

Personal Narrative: Lessons Learned About Rice
I learned about Rice through a mailing flyer, well my mom did at least. I remember coming home, my mom holding the fly er in hand, as I shimmied
my way in the door, and her pleading, "This is your school". The flyer wasn't very information based, merely similar to a postcard but it evoked a
sensational feeling. Later that day I explored the website to find information on: the academic programs, on–campus living, the track and field program,
and the many opportunities Rice has to offer. I was already motivated to apply from what I learned through the website and flyers, but then I also
visited on Discovering Rice Day in September and I was consumed. Living a day as a Rice student, or at least a portion of one, was eye opening, the

The first of the four essays is "The Necessity of Parades" by Daniel. The beginning of this essay paints a picture of This essay explores if even though

Rice Production
I. Introduction The most important food crop in the Philippines is rice, a staple food in most of the country. It is produced all throughout Luzon, the
Western Visayas, Southern Mindanao, and Central Mindanao. 9.5 billion tons of palay were produced in 1989 almost. In 1990 palay, which caused a
27 percent value added in agriculture and 3.5 percent of GNP. Per hectare yields have generally been low in comparison with other Asian countries.
Since the mid–1960s, however, yields have increased substantially as a result of the cultivation of high–yielding varieties developed in the mid–1960s
at the International Rice Research Institute located in the Philippines. The proportion of "miracle" rice in total output rose from zero in 1965–66...show

The cultivation of rice has had an enormous impact on the natural biome. Rice has affected the natural biome that it is grown in, in a devastating way.
It has caused the natural biomes to deteriorate and caused the natural way of life to collapse leaving no place for the native animals and plants. But
what would happen if the cultivation of rice stopped and the natural biomes returned to their former glory? What would happen to all those people

This process causes many native animals to lose their homes and food source which could ultimately lead to their extinction. The removal of trees
also leads to the disruption of a cycle where the water, light and dead leaves travel down to the ground spreading nutrients see source 3, after the
trees have been removed many farmers use the slash and burn technique to make a layer of nutrient rich soil this is done by cutting the shrubs
down and setting fire to the ground. Because the soil in the tropical rainforest is so unfertile the farmers use a large quantity of fertiliser and when
it rains chemicals from the fertiliser run off into streams and ponds causing a large amounts of algae to grow which stops oxygen getting into the
water, the fertiliser can also cause the aquatic animals and land animals to become poisoned. Once the rice is planted it becomes highly exposed
to disease and pests which means the farmers use pesticide which can make native animals and bugs ill. Some farmers also need to flatten the land
which leads to the clearing of soil the clearing of soil leads to the removal to soil layers that have taken many decades to form causing even more
nutrients from the soil to be lost. Because rice needs wet conditions to grow well many farmers use ground or river water irrigate their fields, but
over irrigating can lead to soil salinity which will kill the rice crops and many other native plants as well, irrigation can also lead to

Reaction Paper On Rice Cooker

  • 1. Reaction Paper On Rice Cooker My Review On Zojirushi NS–WAC 10 Rice Cooker and Warmer– The Recipe For Divinely Delicious Rice Quite recently, I felt the need for a rice cooker. Since I need to make rice on daily basis, I decided that it is time I get a rice cooker and get done with the task easily and avoid all the hassle. I always thought that buying something as simple as a rice machine will be easy but when I started searching the market aisles, I was in for a big surprise. There were so many make and models all claiming to be better than the other and I had no idea which one to go for. The result, needless to say, was always perfectly cooked rice. Moreover it also has a clock and delay timer to further sweeten the deal. Dent–Resistant Body A very telling factor of the quality of any product is its body. Same goes for Zojirushi's rice cooker. Not only it is attractive in looks, it also has a dent–resistant body. I have using it for almost two years now and it still looks as good as new. This dent– resistant body guarantees prolonged usage. Capacity: Believed to be the best rice cooker and steamer by many, the Zojirushi rice cooker can accommodate upto 5.5 cups of rice. Not only is the rice well–cooked, it is healthy as well. The capacity that this rice cooker offers gives it an edge because unlike others, with it you can easily cook for a group of 13–15 people. 'Keep Warm' Mode: An ingenious design, Zojirushi Micom uses a 'keep warm' mode. This makes this rice cooker an intelligent tool. Once the rice is cooked, it stops

  • 3. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Rice What Are The Healthiest Types of Rice And Should You Eat To Lose More Weight With so much information offered for free anywhere it is quite a challenge to determine which one holds truth and valuable to you. When it comes to weight loss, you do not need to complicate things. Shredding some excess pounds is often as easy as eating right and getting active. Although limiting calories is an important element of the most successful weight loss programs. The type of food you choose to consume is also essential. Rice, a gluten–free grain is relatively affordable and a versatile ingredient to various recipes. This can be a great option when you are trying to lose weight, if and only if you pick the right kind. Rice consists of 3 elements: the germ,...show more content... Take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of some of the most popular types of rice. Let's take a look at the pros and cons of several popular types. 1.The Wild Rice Although it appears and grows like rice, but from a botanical standpoint, wild rice is not actually rice. This is native to North America and is a seed of an aquatic grass, which is traditionally harvested via canoe by the indigenous people. Many of today's wild rice displayed on store shelves has been tamed already, and grown in man–made paddies. However, you can still locate some lake–grown, hand–harvested, and organic wild rice in some specialty stores. This variety of rice delivers a remarkable range of nutrients; magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, and B vitamins, which include the cancer–protective, foliate. Wild rice has a smoky aroma and a chewy texture. Its nutty taste will definitely stand out when used in salads and soups. The only disadvantage is that it will take up to an hour to cook. You should consider preparing a huge batch or soak the grains overnight. This method will minimize the cooking time by Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Got Rice? Essay Every culture has its "staple" food. This is the food product that anchors each meal. For some cultures, it is meat and potatoes. However, for most of the world, regardless of region, rice is the staple that is served most often. . It is "A food staple of half the planet's population" (Reynolds pg 1). But why rice? Why not bread or potatoes as is common in western countries? Within nutrisional basic food pyramid, rice is part of the breads, cereal, rice and pasta family. This family is the baseline foundation of human nutrition. Rice is a popular crop as it can be grown and cultivated fairly easily. Rice is grown by individual families for their personal needs, or can be cultivated by large farms for supply to the world. Rice...show more content... She would rinse the rice several times to remove all the excess starch and carefully measure both the rice and the water to get the proper proportion. She would them steam the rice on the stove, vigilantly regulating the heat to make sure that not one kernel of rice burned or was undercooked. I would watch as she would "Lower the heat and simmer the rice for about 20 minutes or until the rice has soaked up all the water" (McCulloch 32). My Grandmother would then present her feast and nothing would make her happier than to hear the scraping of a fork or the click of chopsticks on an empty plate or bowl. It was the unspoken rule that rice was served at least once a day and that no rice was left in the bowl as that would bring bad luck. My mother still recalls when she was a child and her friends would come to visit. They would think it odd that her family ate rice with every dinner. She still describes eating American style meatloaf with Japanese steamed rice. My Grandma's ways still live on in our family as we cannot eat meatloaf without rice, no potatoes allowed. Rice makes the flavor of the meat or whatever vegetable that is served with more distinctive and the flavors don't compete with each other like they sometimes do with bread or potatoes. What does rice really taste like? Rice is one of the hardest foods to describe. It is more of an addition than an actual flavor. When asked, most people would compare the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

These four steps can prevent further injury and also ensure the injury does not worsen. Resting allows the injury to heal and prevents any worsening conditions. The most recommended form of icing is with either an ice pack or ice massage. Icing should be done every 15–20 minutes every 3–4 hours. This helps to prevent swelling and temporary pain relief. Compression with an ACE bandage also helps to prevent swelling of the injury. The injury should be eleveated above the heart to help avoid swelling as well, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Wild Rice In Aboriginal Culture The popular interpretation of the words for wild rice (manoomin) as good berry or good seed "may reflect the deeper meaning of wild rice in Aboriginal culture or recognize its nutritional properties" (Vennum 5). In addition to storytelling, the gift of manoomin has been acknowledged through ceremony. A feast that featured the first harvest ofrice was held at the ricing camp, and wild rice was served at other ceremonies and family feasts (Blegen 21). But it is also used as an everyday good and was eaten all year round, by itself or in stews, soups, not just at harvest or through the winter. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Indica grains are long and thin and are fluffy when cooked. These are more popular in northern Europe. Japonica grains, popular in southern Europe, are shorter, more absorbent, and creamier when cooked. Spain and Italy have increased their production of Indica rice, which has led to a decrease in European rice imports. There are three primary use categories for the rice industry: processed food production (such as breakfast cereals), beer production, and direct food use. Branding of rice in the direct food use category is important because most of the rice purchased in this category is consumed at home after being purchased from food retailers. Direct food use rice can be subdivided into four primary rice types: white, parboiled, brown, and precooked. White rice is the most popular retail rice in production and is the result of the final milling process, which can be refined to varying degrees. The second most popular retail rice is parboiled white rice. It is prepared through many steps including a special milling, steam–cooking, and drying process (there are over 40 steps in Gallo's parboiled rice process). Brown rice is milled similarly to white rice, but the bran layer is retained on the rice kernel during the milling process. In response to consumer demands for convenience, precooked rice is becoming

I am the type of person who always questions the status of different modalities and life experiences, but I do not one hundred percent believe everything that they were talking about. I do believe that we need to take out the rest aspect of the RICE method, but I do not think the application of ice should be taken out. We as athletic trainers and physical therapist, use to POLICE method and the biggest difference being the optimal loading aspect of the acronym. Without the optimal loading part of rehabilitation, this will cause the affected area to become even more stiff and possible immobile for a while. The reason why I believe ice could be helpful in this situation is because ice can be used for different things other than slowing down the process of inflammation. Inflammation is not a bad thing as we learned in class, but it can cause pain and loss of range of motion, which could inhibit the use of that infected area and cause for a longer healing process. If the clinician used ice on the affected area, that will cause that area to go numb, therefore the patient will not feel pain, thereby increasing the range of motion. Another major use for ice is it decreases the process of secondary hypoxic injury. This issue of secondary hypoxic is a...show more content... Especially with Golden Rice, there are numerous nations that appear to be supporters of the Golden Rice. With biogenetic building of rice, there is an expansion underway, financial incitement, and in addition, a reduction in starvation and increment of beta–carotene. Many research has been conducted and debated on as to whether Golden Rice increases the sufficient effects of human nutrition. To begin, Golden Rice provides beta–carotene to individuals that are vitamin A deficient. The amount of beta–carotene in Golden rice does not harmfully affect the human body. Golden Rice can adjust to and protect the development of various sorts of products, which means it helps to...show more content... This says a lot to me since I am a person that has a hypersensitive response to sustenance. With things being what they are, what reason would I need to hurt myself by enabling them to consume this rice? The genetically modified organism (GMOS) refers to the production of a crop or an animal whose genetic constitution has been altered by use of the biotechnology to favor the development of the physiological characteristics, which facilitates the production of the desired yields (Beyer et al. 2002). The creation of the genetically modified organisms includes the utilization of the logical techniques such as conceptive cloning and the recombinant DNA innovation. Golden rice has been altered through genetic building to create a type of vitamin A, known as beta–carotene. Beta–carotene is in charge of the golden yellow color of the rice. White rice does not process the beta–carotene and subsequently, does not have the golden color. At the point when the carotenoids in the golden rice are expended, they are either stored into fat tissue or changed over into vitamin A. The rice contains characteristic greasy lipids which help in the assimilation of its carotenoids by the body. Different advantages of the golden rice incorporate the arrangement of the adequate vitality to the body. The vitality originates from starch contained inside the rice. It was when the social condition is only on the side of those in the higher class. At the beginning of the story you can actually feel the dark or unpleasant feeling the characters is experiencing. Mang Pablo, the main character has three children – two of them are boys and a little girl named Isabel. He is a thin dark man. Thin because of inadequate food especially this season when they have no harvest. He is dark in complexion because of everyday farming under the heat of the sun. Ben Lucero first visits Cebu, his mother's hometown near Manila, when he travels there for her funeral. As a guest in the home of his wealthy and powerful Aunt Clara, he finds himself disoriented by the unfamiliarity of Filipino life––especially when confronted by the spectacle of self–inflicted crucifixion, a grisly local custom by which penitents attempt to placate the divine wrath––and overwhelmed by his sudden infatuation for Ellen, his aunt's secretary. Gradually and belatedly, Ben discovers the forces and events that shaped his family and formed the silent, unknown background of his life: the brutality of the Japanese occupation, the poverty and clannishness of Filipino life, the weird syncretism of the indigenous Catholicism, the pervasive corruption of the island authorities. He flees to the security of his native Seattle, but there he finds himself haunted by his recollections of Cebu, and impelled by circumstance to resolve the doubts he has experienced regarding his faith and identity. The novel starts when Ben arrived in the Philippines and his reunion with his Aunt Clara. The first part talks about the history of Clara's friendship with Ben's mother and how Clara became wealthy, how she rescued Remedios from the Japanese and how Remedios married Ben's father, Albert and moved to the States. • 13. Essay On Rice Salt stress results to stunted growth and reduced productivity of rice. Transcription factors like heat shock factors (HSFs) represents key controllers of stress adaptation. Moreover, heat shock factors of the group A and B are clearly established as thermal and non–thermal stress controllers in many plants. Therefore, this experiment aims at examining the functions of OsHsfC1b transcription factor in rice. There are several transcription factors that work in rice, including MYB, NAC and bZIP, leading to regulation of the stress– responsive genes in the crop. In addition, Bahadur et al. OsHsFa2e and OsHsf7, have been confirmed to functionally work in vivo. Transgenic crops, such as rice, with expressing OsHsfA2e are known to be more tolerant to the heat and stress than any other plants. BLAST search and multiple cycle alignment of OsHsfC1b (Os01g53220) show that homologous proteins are found in other monocots such as sorghum, maize and Brachypodium, but also in the dicot Arabidopsis. In rice, OsHsfC1b shares highest similarity with OsHsfC1a, another member of the four class C HSFs identified in rice (Arvidsson et al, 2008, p. 211). Proteins hold a well preserved N–terminal DNA– binding domains that has four ОІ–sheets and О±–helices and a highly conserved oligomerization domain also known as HR–A/B domain. Putative nuclear localization signal upstream of the oligomerization domain was found in all proteins (Gupta, Palma, & Corpas, 2016). A subcellular localization study was conducted to confirm targeting of OsHsfC1b to the nucleus in Arabidopsis mesophyll cell protoplast. Hypothesis In this study, rice will be exposed to osmotic stress condition, whereby it will show: a higher accumulation of proline and soluble sugars, reduced levels of MDA and minimized water loss rate compared to wild types of plant. Still, the stress–responsive gene OsHsfC1b will exhibit a significantly higher expression levels in rice than in transgenic plants under similar environmental conditions. This process causes many native animals to lose their homes and food source which could ultimately lead to their extinction. The removal of trees also leads to the disruption of a cycle where the water, light and dead leaves travel down to the ground spreading nutrients see source 3, after the trees have been removed many farmers use the slash and burn technique to make a layer of nutrient rich soil this is done by cutting the shrubs down and setting fire to the ground. Because the soil in the tropical rainforest is so unfertile the farmers use a large quantity of fertiliser and when it rains chemicals from the fertiliser run off into streams and ponds causing a large amounts of algae to grow which stops oxygen getting into the water, the fertiliser can also cause the aquatic animals and land animals to become poisoned. Once the rice is planted it becomes highly exposed to disease and pests which means the farmers use pesticide which can make native animals and bugs ill. Some farmers also need to flatten the land which leads to the clearing of soil the clearing of soil leads to the removal to soil layers that have taken many decades to form causing even more nutrients from the soil to be lost. Because rice needs wet conditions to grow well many farmers use ground or river water irrigate their fields, but over irrigating can lead to soil salinity which will kill the rice crops and many other native plants as well, irrigation can also lead to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
