Is Digital Marketing a Good Career Choice in Today's Digital Age?
Managerial Marketing Major
1. Managerial Marketing Major
The Marketing Department at Kent State University has created a unique undergraduate major
that focuses on the development of marketing practitioners. The unique features of the major
include:
• Development of a comprehensive set of knowledge and skills in each student
• Involvement with real clients, real problems and real results through “live” cases
• Collaboration between faculty and regional business people to develop courses
• A higher level of interaction with faculty because of small classes with only
Managerial Marketing majors enrolled
• Integrated courses, with material learned in earlier courses forming the foundation
for later courses
The Managerial Marketing Major was designed to produce graduates ready to contribute to a
firm from their first day on the job. While the education and training students receive are
relevant for any size business, their knowledge and experiences make them especially
desirable candidates for employment in small and medium size enterprises.
Students engage in extensive hands-on learning – participating in projects dealing with
market segmentation, promotion planning, and development of a comprehensive marketing
plan. The courses also emphasize a range of computer, analytical, presentation, and writing
skills graduates need to function successfully as marketers.
Our goal in developing this program was to make Kent State University’s Managerial
Marketing students and graduates the top choice of employers in Northeast Ohio and
beyond. We are proud of the program and of the young men and women who have completed
it. Questions about this program or our outstanding students and graduates can be addressed
to me using the contact information below.
Sincerely,
Richard H. Kolbe, Ph.D.
