instruments and disposed of contaminated supplies properly for example using a needle
to check blood sugar levels for the Diabetic individuals I worked with. Ensured HIPAA
compliance while never exploiting them in any way to maintain their individual privacy at
all times.

all times of day and night .Provided caring companionship to elderly and
developmentally disabled patients.
 My skills with handling negative or rude situations also were exceptional with this job as
a Community Support Staff. I could easily convince the individuals to calm down or
change their mind when making a not so good decision whether it was spending all of
their weekly money on one item or I even talked with an individual who wanted to hurt
his self because of their conservator (a person who has control or say so over what they
can spend money on, go places, etc.) would not agree to a new tattoo that the individual
wanted. I always think about how and what I say before I speak to someone to avoid
someone becoming offended.
 Provided primary resident care and assistance with daily living activities. Also provided
transportation for any activities or doctor’s appointments that were scheduled for my shift
that day. I monitored them when they were cooking for themselves so that it was under

control if something happened it could be stopped before it started and monitored them
every hour while they slept for health and safety precautions.
 I also had a part in helping them to stay healthy as in suggesting something healthier to
eat instead of something that was high in calories because most of the people had a set
amount of calories they could consume in a day which was prescribed by doctor’s
orders.
 I had daily notes for each person for the shift I worked and I documented everything that
we did that day along with what they did for example, if they took a nap, where we drove
to including what was done on their outing, when and what time they had their
medications which was the exact time every day. Basically everything the individuals did
on my shift was concluded in my daily notes.
Certifications
 Cookeville High School and received my GED.
 Certified in First Aid/CPR and the Heimlich maneuver by the State of Tennessee. Also I
am working toward being a certified nursing assistant (CNA), I just need to retake my
skills portion of the state test and I will be a CNA.
