2. This is the sector diagram I made.
Our pollution comes from the road located
to the east of our house.
Also we have a lot of foot traffic from the
trail at the back of our house going from
the north to the south west. Along with
with wildlife. Genetic drift comes from the
north west, and noise from the south east.
Pollution: can be redirected such as
recycling garbage thrown on the side of
the road, or composted if able to.
Sun: can be redirected to solar panels
and reused, also sun can be trapped in a
greenhouse and be used.
3. Permaculture principles
The first one i chose was get a yield (or harvest). I think this one applies to
everyone's site, but for mine it is the number one most important. I depend on
our yields to provide nutritious food for my family and to be able to make some
income from them.
The second one is cultivate diversity, There are around 391,000 species of
plants in the world, over 20,000 of them being edible, and we only consume
around 20 plant species. There are thousand out there people will never try, i
want to be able to have my kids exposed to more diverse fruit and vegetables.
6. Water Analysis
Yearly rainfall is 47 inches, spread out throughout the year. The
closet watershed is about 20 minutes from where i live, and there are
quite a few more a little further than that. Our soil is very sandy and
very wet in certain areas.
Water enter my site by the water spicket located at the back of the
house on the west side. Our well is located south of our house.
Rain water will flow down the hill on the back of the barn and pool in
the lower areas, into the swales we have on our property. The back
half of our site in the west is wet most of the time.
