RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION – IS A MULTI-
TIER APPROACH TO THE EARLY
IDENTIFICATION AND SUPPORT OF STUDENTS
WITH LEARNING AND BEHAVIOR NEEDS. THE
PROCESS BEGINS WITH HIGH-QUALITY
INSTRUCTION AND SCREENING OF ALL
STUDENTS IN THE GENERAL EDUCATION
CLASSROOMS.
PURPOSE OF R T I
THE RTI PROCESS IS CLOSELY MONITORED TO
ASSESS BOTH THE LEARNING RATE AND LEVEL OF
PERFORMANCE OF INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS.
THE RTI PROCESS IS DESIGNED FOR USE WHEN
MAKING DECISIONS IN BOTH GENERAL EDUCATION
AND SPECIAL EDUCATION ENVIRONMENTS FOR
CREATING A WELL-INTEGRATED SYSTEM OF
INSTRUCTION AND INTERVENTION GUIDED BY THE
STUDENT DATA.
