The second draft of my film script

1. 1 FILM NAME TO BE DECIDED 1
FADE IN:
INT. HOUSE - DAY
AJAX is hunched at the front door. He is gripping the handle
tightly whilst holding his stomach. At his feet is a
present. AJAX lets go of the handle and pulls a mobile from
his pocket.
POV PHONE
" Hey, I got here a little early, I’m just past the top of
the high street"
AJAX holds his head and slowly descends to a crouch,
trembling. Placing the mobile back into his pocket, AJAX
rises and reaches for the door handle with his trembling
hand.
EXT. HOUSE DRIVEWAY - DAY
The sky is dim and the street lights are on. AJAX walks to
the edge of the driveway and remains motionless with his
head down as he waits.
A small car pulls up onto the kerb and AJAX climbs in,
placing the present on his lap
INT. CAR - DAY
ZOE
Ready?
AJAX looks out of the window and glances at the house. He
drops his head again
AJAX
Mmmm
ZOE
Well don’t sound too enthusiastic.
ZOE glances into the rear view mirror sets off. She notices
the present
ZOE
Thought you were going shopping?
AJAX nods his head, continuing to stare at the floor

ZOE
Who’s the present for?
AJAX
Ella. I’m meeting her somewhere in
town.
ZOE
So... you’re on a date with her?
AJAX looks out of the window, ZOE smiles to herself and
continues driving.
AJAX’s phone vibrates as he receives another message from
the girl
POV PHONE
" Everything okay? "
ZOE
Where are you meeting her?
AJAX looks out of the widow, observing all of the people in
the street
AJAX
Could you take me home?
ZOE
But what about Ella?
AJAX
I can’t do this. She’s too good for
me.
ZOE turns to AJAX
AJAX
Can you take me home, please? There
are too many people, what if I mess
up?
ZOE
Yeah, first dates can be like that.
But you always gotta consider what
the positive outcomes could be.
What if it goes well?
AJAX looks at ZOE

JOHN
I’m glad I pushed myself to meet my
boyfriend. I truly am. Finding that
special someone can really make a
difference in your life.
ZOE smiles and turns back
ZOE
Go on, don’t keep her waiting,
otherwise you’ll make me late.
AJAX looks up the sky and smiles. He opens the car door and
steps out onto the pavement. He leans in to the passenger
window.
AJAX
How can I thank you?
ZOE
Just don’t let her down
AJAX
I shan’t
The cab drives away. AJAX takes a deep breath and walks
towards thee large group of people
AJAX spots ELLA in the crowd and increases his pace
ELLA
Hey, i’m so glad you made it!
AJAX passes ELLA the present
ELLA
Aww, thank you so much!
ELLA hugs AJAX, looking up at him
AJAX
I wouldn’t miss it for the world,
though its a little crowded don’t
you think?
ELLA
You don’t like crowds?
AJAX
Not particularly
