Perencanaan dan Persiapan
Pastikan crane cukup kuat untuk mengangkat beban.
Crane memiliki izin terbaru sesuai undang-undang.
Simpanlah catatan mengenai pemeriksaan crane, penggantian tali crane. A.S.
Jika power
line bersentuhan dengan Jib, perlu dilakukan pengawasan penuh.
• Jangan mengoperasikan cranes jika kecepatan angin melebihi 15 m/s (54 km/hr,)
baik.
Ketika menggunakan lift box
Yang harus dilakukan oleh operator crane:
Hanya mengangkut 3 orang termasuk dogman.

Planning and Preparation
Ensure that the crane is big enough to lift the load.
The crane has current approval by a statutory
authority.
A Competency Assessment has been completed
for the crane operator.
A Hired-in Plant Inspection Report has been carried out for the crane
by a competent person.
The Safe Working Load (SWL) is clearly displayed on the crane.
Records of crane inspections, service record, changes to ropes, are
maintained. A.S. 2250 is the applicable standard.
The Load Rating Chart is attached in the cab and that maximum boom angles and
radius will not be exceeded.
Transportation. Is the low loader float fit for purpose?
All lifting gear hooks, slings, shackles have current inspection
tags and are not damaged.
How to work safely with a crane
• Maintain the minimum clearances from power lines. If a power
line is touched by the Jib, a full maintenance inspection is required.
• Cranes must not be operated in wind speeds exceeding 15 m/s (54 km/hr,)
• When the crane is traveling without a load, the slew lock for the
cab must be engaged.
• Any hazard developing during operation is to be
• Reported immediately.
Operating Signals
☞ Visual and audible signals in accordance with AS 2250.
☞ Stop signal can be given by anyone.
☞ Two-way communications – if lost stop work.
Lift Boxes - Safety Margin
Ensure that when the jib of the crane is at its max radius that the W.L.L. (working
load limit) when divided by 3 is equal to or exceeds the total load of the lift box.
Before using the lift box
The crane operator must make sure that:
A safety hook is fitted.
The crane is equipped with a dead-man control on power lowering. This provides
self-centering and automatic brake engagement.
The crane has a lockout control to prevent free fall of the lift box and its contents.
The crane, the lift box and associated gear are in a safe working condition.
When using the lift box
The crane operator must:
Only carry a maximum of 3 people including the dogman.
All personnel are to wear a safety harness attached to a
secure point. Only carry the lift box and its contents.
Remain at the crane controls whenever
there is someone in the lift box.
Only ever move the lift box under
powered conditions.
Working on unstable ground
If you suspect that the ground will not hold the weight of the crane
plus load, then an authorized person must provide written
information to the crane operator. i.e. back-filled trenches, the
location of open trenches, underground tanks and services.
The crane operator must visually inspect the ground conditions to
determine the type and amount of packing required under the crane
outriggers.

The smaller the angle
between the parts of
rope the greater the
load on the attachment
point.
PPPAAARRRTTTSSS OOOFFF AAA TTTYYYPPPIIICCCAAALLL BBBLLLOOOCCCKKK
NOTE: An eye is preferable to a hook
if block is used as the upper block in a
purchase etc.
All blocks should be marked with
S.W.L. and size of rope to be used.
• SNATCH BLOCKS can be
dangerous. If block changes
position when rope is slack, the
rope can bear against the gate.
When rope comes under load it
can shear safety pin and force gate
open, spilling the rope.
SNATCH BLOCKS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE AS LEAD BLOCKS
• Blocks are named by the number of sheaves they contain.
Single Block – 1 sheave Treble Block – 3 sheaves
Double Block – 2 sheaves Quad Block – 4 sheaves
• Defects in blocks
Some common defects in blocks are
A. Defective hook or eye D. Spread check plates
B. Defective support bracket E. Defective shaft bearings etc.
C. Cracked shipped or broken sheaves F. Missing safety pin (snatch block)
G. Frozen block – due to lack of lubrication
• Inpsection
A. Check all parts for wear and deformation.
B. Check that sheave grooves are smooth.
C. Check sheaves for free rotation.
D. Check clearance between sheaves and cheek plates is
not excessive.
Remove sheaves occasionally and clean and lubricate shaft.
WHEN NOT IS USE – STORE UNDER COVER
SSSHHHEEEAAAVVVEEE GGGRRROOOOOOVVVEEESSS
Sheaves are made to suit specific sizes of rope.
* Too small a groove is very dangerous. Rope can lock in groove and rope can not
be pulled in or let out. Additional load can cause rope to break in sheave.
• Effect of rope angles on blocks and anchorages (attachment point).
* SAFETY NOTE
Never stand on
the bight of a
rope under
load. See
under ‘C’.

Semakin kecil sudut
antara tali maka
semakin besar beban
yang dapat diangkat
BBBAAAGGGIIIAAANNN---BBBAAAGGGIIIAAANNN DDDAAARRRIII BBBLLLOOOCCCKKK UUUMMMUUUMMM
NOTE: Jika block digunakan sebagai
digunakan.
• SNATCH BLOCKS dapat berbahaya.
Jika posisi block berubah ketika tali
kendor, tali tersebut dapat mengganjal
gerbang/gate. Jika tali diberi beban,
dapat memotong safety pin, memaksa
gate terbuka dan memutuskan tali.
SNATCH BLOCK TIDAK DISARANKAN UNTUK DIGUNAKAN SEBAGAI LEAD
BLOCK
• Nama block diberikan berdasarkan jumlah sheaves yang mereka miliki.
Single Block – 1 sheave Treble Block – 3 sheave
Double Block – 2 sheave Quad Block – 4 sheave
• Kerusakan pada blocks
Kerusakan yang umum pada block adalah
A. Rusaknya hook atau eye D. Goresan pada cheek plates
B. Rusaknya support bracket E. Rusaknya shaft bearings dll.
• Inspeksi
A. Periksa kerusakan pada semua bagian.
B. Periksa apakah sheave grooves licin/halus.
berlebihan.
Lepaskan sheaves sewaktu-waktu, bersihkan dan minyaki
shaft.
SIMPANLAH DI TEMPAT YANG BAIK JIKA TIDAK DIGUNAKAN
SSSHHHEEEAAAVVVEEE GGGRRROOOOOOVVVEEESSS
Sheaves dibuat agar cocok dengan ukuran tali tertentu.
* Sangat berbahaya jika ukuran groove terlalu kecil.
* CATATAN
Jangan berdiri
di bawah tali
yang
membawa
beban. Lihat
gambar ‘C’.
