OBJECTIVE
Challenging engineering position that draws on my professional engineering skills,
technical knowledge, strong work ethic, productivity and commitment to excellence.
PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Extensive experience as a professional engineer with direct responsibility for the
design and specification of HVAC, piping and major mechanical systems on a
commercial and industrial campus. Design functions include calculating loads,
interpreting technical drawings, verification of compliance with codes and standards,
analysis of existing capabilities and deficiencies, technical writing and preparation of
project documentation. Coordinate design activities and reviews with diverse team
as a senior staff engineer with highly effective communicative and analytical skills.
EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
Facilities Senior Staff Engineer – Mechanical Design
› Serve collaboratively with a multi-disciplined engineering team to prepare
design submittals for major construction projects. Apply knowledge of
engineering principles to exceed customer expectations and meet budget.
› Coordinate design activities as a lead engineer to include: load calculations;
sizing of components; preparation of specifications in CSI format; RS Mean’s
material/labor estimates; AutoCAD drafting; scheduling; and reviews. Verify
compliance with customer performance and criteria parameters. Evaluate
equipment and configurations for maintainability, efficiency and longevity.
› Representative examples include: constant and variable volume HVAC with
steam or hot water heat/reheat; primary-secondary and variable-primary chilled
water distribution; reverse return hydronic piping; NEC Class 1, Division 1
spray booths with ACGIH dilution ventilation; desiccant dehumidification;
centrifugal, scroll and screw chillers; storm water pumping facilities; roof
drainage rehabilitation; domestic water; sanitary waste; induced draft cooling
towers; dust collection; and LN2/LH2 cryogenic ambient air heat exchangers.
› Support construction activities and field change authorization processes.
Review contract submittals and coordinate with commissioning activities.
› Coordinate with in-house maintenance personnel to evaluate equipment
operation and assist with troubleshooting and fault diagnosis. Prepare
technical reports identifying corrective actions and expectations. Prepare
pressure vessel certification reports in support of an on-site pressure vessel
program – including certification reports, sizing of ASME relief components and
component specifications. Support an on-site reliability centered maintenance
(RCM) program with vibration analysis in accordance with ANSI standards
› Utilize Microsoft Office, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP and Autodesk AutoCAD
software for engineering analysis, design and management presentation.
