1. Target Audience Stats
I looked at both Action and Comedy
films which have been released in
the past ten years and found that
both genres are very popular. With
further research, I found that some
action films also had a comedy
element to them for example Menin
Black 2 (2002) and 21 Jump Street
(2012) are both actually
action/comedy films and because
both films were/are very popular
shown by another release of Men in
Black 3 ten years later and also the
high number of tickets sold in each
it shows that having action/comedy
as our chosen genre is proven a
popular choice with the public and
that people would be interested in
watching it.
2. The chart shows that both comedy
and action films are popular. 64% of
the representative sample enjoys
watching comedy films and 50%
enjoy watching action films. This
proves that there is an audience if
we make an action/comedy film.
In the table below, it shows that if
we mix genres to make an Even though not many females aged
action/comedy there will be a very 35+ don’t tend to watch action
wide target audience with more films,(35%) by including the comedy
females (<35-78% and 35+-62%) element in the film we hope this
would prefer to watch a comedy might appeal more to a wider
and more men (<35-52%and 35+- audience.
62%) would prefer to watch an
action film.
3. The chart shows that people rate
comedy and action films as a
favourite to watch. Comedy being
the highest at 31% and action a bit
lower at 20%. This shows that there
is a large target audience for an
action/comedy film.
Females under the age of 35
consider a comedy film as their
favourite and males under the age
of 35 prefer action films as one of
their favourite so by combining the
two to make an action/comedy will
create a wider target audience.
