** remember, we strive for 100%
participation!!**
Here is a general overview of the week ahead.
You can see that similarly to last year, the Community Service Board has designed events that take place both at school and in the community. All Service Week events take place after school, whether your activity is on campus or off campus. If you choose to participate in any off campus activities, be prepared to leave school at 3:35 to make it to the off-site locations on time.
Now, I’ll turn it over to Katie who will tell you a little more about each day.
On Wednesday after school, we are having a discussion to “spread the word to end the word”. Leah Marchewka is part of Down Syndrome Parent group and will be coming to join our discussion and speak about what the word “retarded” has on people. We will be able to break down the connotation this word has. At the end we will all be pledging to not say the R word. We need about 20 - 30 girls for this discussion. The event will take place in the Atrium from 3:35 - 6.
And now, I will turn it over to Paige Usiak, who will tell us about a collection she will be doing.
Posters will be posted around school, and this list will be on edline with this information on it as well, so you don’t have to memorize
