Research Paper On Dogs
There are many different species of dogs. Being a pet owner can be difficult. You have to know what it takes to care for them. Like every other
living thing in this world, dogs have a life cycle. Some people may not think this, but dogs are very important. They help many people for example,
see and eye dogs and police dogs.
How many species of dogs are there? In fact there is about 340 breeds of dogs known by the FCI, but the standards for the breed recognition depend
from country to country. However the American Kennel Club currently recognizes only 167 breeds. Dogs are constantly evolving as we're building
variants of dog breeds. If you mean domestic dogs, then there is only one species, Canis Familiars. However, there are somewhere between...show more

Make sure you have a good, reliable veterinarian. A good way to choose a vet is to see if he or she answers you questions promptly and knowledgeably
and to see how they interact with your pet. You must get your dog vaccinated. Your veterinarian will advise you as to which diseases are common in
the area and so which diseases are necessary to vaccinate against. Brush your dog. The frequency of brushing will vary widely, depending on what
type of dog you have and how much it sheds. Brushing your dog regularly will help to reduce shedding and it gives you a chance to assess the state of
your dog's body.
What is the life cycle of a dog? Though it varies by breed, the average lifespan of a dog is 12 years. Dogs go through 4 stages of the life cycle. The
first stage is puppy. The second is adolescent. The third is adult. The fourth is senior. Like humans and other mammals, individual dogs move through
the stages of the life cycle at different rates. The rate of a dogs aging depends on factors such as genetics, nutrition, and the quality of care your dog
receives.
I now know that there are around 340 breeds of dogs in the world. I also know what it takes to care for a dog and what a dog's life cycle is. Dogs go
through stages in their life just like a human being. Dogs also have jobs for example, some train to be a police dog, some train to go into the military,
and some help with people that can't see and they are called see and eye

Labrador retrievers and other energetic dogs are good for people with active lifestyles. Chihuahuas and other smaller breeds are good for people who
prefer to stay inside. The American Kennel Club has an online test to determine what breed of dog would best suit a person's lifestyle depending on
many factors, such as location, activity level, and how many kids live in their home ( ). The test can help people to determine what dog they would

When you're walking your dog around your neighborhood or yard you're exercising. You can create an entire exercise routine just by walking your
dog. Eventually your dog will anticipate the walk and motivate you to go when you're not in the mood. Some people enjoy running or riding their bike
alongside their dog. Cats are the opposite and normally are trained to use the bathroom in a litter box, which you have to clean feces out of. They do
not need or like being walked and are more independent pets than dogs. In most places, it may even be deemed as out the norm to run beside or walk a

Puppy Love
Imagine walking in the door after a long day; your furry loving puppy is sprinting towards you so excited to see you after missing you all day. Your
puppy is ready to grab your attention and distract you from the terrible day you've had, comforting you in the process. Dogs are great pets because of
their comforting nature, playfulness and protective tendencies.
Puppy snuggles and dog kisses are comforting when life is stressful. Dogs are loving to the families they live with and are very compassionate
creatures. Puppies and dogs are good at cheering you up when you are down. Dogs are also super loyal to their owners so they want to do anything
they can to make you feel better on a rough day. Not only are dogs comforting once you get home, the knowledge that your dog...show more content...
Dogs are a lot like little kids begging for your attention except they want you to play tug of war or throw a tennis ball. While some people may say
dogs are too time consuming and need too much attention it is very easy to find a dog breed that is more laidback or to play with you energetic
dog by throwing a ball from the couch. The great thing about dogs is there is a dog out there for everyone and there are ways to fulfill the
playtime your dog need without ever having to get up yourself if you are too tired or just aren't in the mood. In contrast, getting up and playing
with a dog is not just fun for the dog it is also fun for the owner. Playing with your dog is not just fun, but can be good exercise. Running back and
forth with a puppy or dog can be tiring but is also tons of fun. Additionally, having your excited dog by your side is much more motivating to keep
running and playing than a treadmill constantly alerting you of how long it has been and how far you have left to go. All the fun times and

Why I should get a dog
Advantages of having a dog:
Imagine you have a truck load of projects and important letters to send, who is going relieve your stress? Your kids certainly won't, your parents

one comes home from work, most likely, your dog will come up running to you.
I should have a dog because they help you exercise, they are for safety, and they are, many benefits. These are my reasons and my explanations of
getting a dog.

Some responsibilities, such as grooming, walking, picking up their waste, and feeding your dog might not be the most pleasant task, but that's
what it takes to take care of a dog. According to: Francisco Valderas, Tom Hadari, Maximo Maticcoli, Nicole Aguero, and Lauren Bessey, they have
responded to this question: "What are the biggest responsibilities of taking care of your dog?" Starting with Frankie, he answered: "The biggest,
and most important responsibility of having a dog, is picking up their waste and grooming them." The next response come from Tom, who says:
"The #1 thing that is really important is that, every dog needs a walk every single day. I walk my dog in a pattern of days, you CAN make a
schedule if you want." This response comes from Maximo, who says: "Responsibility and love is the only thing you need to take care of a dog. But the
most important thing is taking your pet to the vet, every month or so. It's for the best." Here is another response, from Nicole: " If your pet has some
sort of problem, like itching, or some sort of disease, take your pet to your local vet, once every month." All of these responses come from students in

Brain Scans Reveal What Dogs Really Think Of Us
When you hear the word "dog," what do you think? When most people hear the word "dog," they think of a pet that's cute and fluffy. When I hear
this word I don't think of a pet, but instead I think of a family member. I believe that dogs are loveable and makes a huge impact on our world today
There are many different breeds of dogs in this world, but all of them are loving and caring. Josh Billings once said "A dog is the only thing on earth
that loves you more than he loves himself." This quote is so amazing, it shows you just how much a dog loves you, and that they would put you
before anything, even themselves. There's an article called "Brain Scans Reveal What Dogs Really Think of Us," by Theresa Fisher. In this article it

Descriptive Essay About Dog
Boomer was one of the best dogs I ever had; he was a yellow Labrador Retriever. Ever since I was born, he had been my friend. I remember a few years
ago, I was laying on the floor of my room and Boomer laid down with me, putting his arm over my back. He brought me great joy. I remember him as
playful, caring, and a pretty big dog. He would never growl at me and was always eager to meet new people. Boomer was my to go to if I wasn't feeling
good, or if I was upset. When I was in third grade, we got another dog, Oscar, and everything changed. He is a German Wirehair Pointer, they are bred
to be hunting dogs. Now I had two dogs to play with.
During the school day, before my younger brother, Wyatt, had started Kindergarten, he and my

All of the sudden, Boomer stopped eating and wouldn't stand up to go outside. I was scared that my dog would die. A couple of days later he did.
I recall waking up and him being gone. I asked my mom, "Where is Boomer?" and she answered, "Your dad and grandpa took him to the vet to be
put down." I started crying as soon as she gave me this tragic news. Boomer dying was one of the worst things that has happened in my life. At
school that day, I told Will all about it. I cried at school and didn't want to do anything. I wanted his food and water bowl taken away so I would
forget all about what happened. Most mornings I would wake up crying about Boomer. I would dream of him most nights as well. My dad was very
upset with Boomer dying too. He would talk to my mom about him a lot. I was upset for about a week when Boomer died.
One day, Oscar and I went outside to throw around the dove. It brought me some relief that I still had Oscar to play with. I hung out with Oscar
more than ever before. He would lay down with me, go outside with me, and follow me like a shadow. Oscar was upset too. He never barked before
and now he would howl and bark like crazy because he was looking for Boomer. I spent more and more time with Oscar and he became my new best
friend.
I had fun with Oscar and my brothers. We started to

Some say that dogs are a man's best friend, but really, dogs are great pets for the whole family! Although they are cute and loveable, some people
still argue that dogs are way to expensive and too time consuming, but really that isn't the case at all! Dogs are fun, loyal, happy and also very fun to
teach, but that isn't the best part. Coming home from a long day of school, work, sports or where ever you go can be tiring, but imagine a little furry
puppy just coming up to lay with you to end that rough day. I think that having a dog can you a lot of positive things for the future, and there are a lot

In the article Ten Reasons Why You Shouldn't Get a Dog says "It Isn't fair to your dog if you never bother teaching him he's supposed to use the
bathroom outside, but you get mad when he goes inside the house." Some people don't have enough time to train their dog, but if your one of those
people you're in luck! Some places like Petco or Petsmart have classes that will train your dog without you being there! So you won't have to get off
from work to or whatever to train your dog! People also complain that they travel too much to take care of a pet. If you can't take your dog with you on
a trip then you can always put a dog in a kennel or you can let him stay with a loved one or friend! That way you won't be stressed out on your trip!
The last thing that people say is that they like their house neat and tidy all the time, and dogs will just make it messy. Sure, dogs aren't the neatest
creatures ever, but neither are we. To keep your house clean you'll either have to get someone to come and clean it or you'll have to clean it once or
twice a week. Which really isn't that bad. Having a dog does take time and effort, but there are things you can do that will make it not that much of a
big deal. Also, having a dog will have a more positive impact on you than negative, so it is definitely worth

show that when owning a dog it reduces stress. Yes stress! Not only does owning a dog reduce stress but it can prevent heart disease and high
blood pressure. It's healthier for everyone to have a dog because having someone to be there for people gives comfort, prevents sadness or
depression and loneliness. Even though dogs can just be pets, they can also have important jobs like guide dogs, search and rescue dogs, and war

people to be more active in society and become social. People with a lot of energy tend to buy or adopt a dog. There are so many dogs that have
just as important jobs as humans. Many people adopt dogs for their disabilities. Some common jobs for dogs include guide dogs, therapy dogs,

Known as man's best friend, the domestic dog is the greatest pet a person can have. Historically, the canine has been a companion of man for
thousands of years. Dogs have become important members in individual's personal lives. They can also be utilized to benefit society as a whole. Dogs
should be considered the greatest animal because they can provide health benefits, are able to accomplish unique jobs in society, and have profound
meaning for people. When acquiring a dog, many only consider the emotional benefits that they will gain. However, dog ownership is also associated
with several physical benefits. Owning a dog promotes an individual's physical health and can inspire them to live more active lives. When compared
to non–dog owners, individuals with dogs live longer and more active lives. The active lifestyle that most dogs and their owners engage in, such as
participating in walks, provides physical activity for the individual. Increased levels of physical activity help individuals manage their weight and
promote heart health. Studies have revealed that dog ownership has been associated with lower levels of cardiovascular disease and death (Larned).
Many individuals avoid dogs because they fear they are or will become allergic. However, dogs carry their own unique bacteria, which can have
immune boosting benefits for their owners. Studies have also shown that dogs have the ability to detect some cancers and other health problems in
their owners (Clark).

Understanding Behaviors of Dogs
For a long time, dogs are known as one of the most familiar animals among other species. These days, if people ask someone if they have a pet or not,
they probably think one raises a dog. Pet equals dog. It sounds like a stereotype but still it is not weird to understand. In that degree, dogs are
comparatively friendly. Unfortunately, even though there are numerous people who has a dog, many of them do not know dogs'psychology. In other
words, one needs to know how to take care of a dog or dogs as an owner. To be specific, owners of dogs should be responsible to understand what dogs

Sometimes, dogs bring different objects to their owners such as toys. (ACVB 186) It means that dogs trying to show their love and loyalty
toward their owners. Similar to humans, when dogs are fall in love with someone, they do their best in order to be loved. Next behavior is that
dogs sometimes go to your bed even the time when you are not on the bed. This kind of behaviors happen because as it is mentioned above, dogs
like their owners' smell and the reason why they go to owners bed is to be relaxed by smelling the bed. Third behavior is dog following their
owner. Dogs are likely to follow owners wherever they go. When an owner is in kitchen and making food, a dog follows the owner and stay with
the owner. (Trevor Warner 39)When an owner goes to bathroom, a dog follow and wait in front of the toilet door. Reason why dogs follow their
owners is because dogs might think owner is their best friend. Following the owners reveals a friendship and love. Dogs think that their best friend,
the owners, should be together since they are the best friend for each other. (Mizukoshi 178) Another behavior is that dogs lick the owners' face.

many may think dogs are worthless and a burden, but dogs are nonother than the best pet anyone could have.
Most people believe dogs are the best pets, and there are many reasons why they are, science has demonstrated this to be true, two scientifically proven
reasons are: mental and physical health aid that they provide. The American Heart Association (AHA) linked the ownership of dogs, increases the

Even though my dogs are good pets, they are vastly different from one another. They both have different personalities, they look different from one
another, they are both disciplined different and last but not least, they are different physical characteristic. Echo is very independent. She wants
kisses and cuddles, but she doesn't go out of her way to get them. She is not very people friendly. She wants it to be herself and I. Also very to
herself; not really needing very much attention. Bailey on the other hand needs me to be there for her. She wants kisses all the time, and sits by the
couch and whines if she doesn't get kisses. If I lay on the floor even for a minutes, she has to come and lay right on top of me because all she wants is

Dogs are man's best friend, except when they drive you crazy, like creating a mess in your house and barking excessively. Speaking of excessive
barking, nothing can be more annoying that a dog that barks as if there's no tomorrow –– much more when you are about to sleep –– and that offending
dog happens to be your neighbor's pet.
Dealing with a neighbor's noisy pet
Handling this noisy situation can be quite hard especially if they are owned by your friendly and well–loved neighbors, or you don't want any kind of
confrontations yourself. So, how are you going to deal with this problem without sounding like an arrogant and insensitive human being?

This way, the two parties can better understand the issue and better resolved in person.
Another reason why your neighbor's dog is constantly barking is because of what it sees outside –– including you. Because dogs are naturally
territorial, it is understandable that they would bark on someone or something that may seem to offend them. In this case, you can consider putting up a
fence screen, or plant some trees or shrubs between you and your neighbor's property.
You can also make the first move if you are used to handling dogs. Jen DeHaan, founder of DOGthusiast.com and a dog trainer suggests making
friends with the dog. Ask your neighbor if you can meet their dog and get to know their pet so that the later will get used to your presence and your
scent. You can also suggest to your neighbor to bring their pet to your yard for it to be familiarized with it. You can also give treats to their dog, as
long as you ask permission to give one, of course.
What if YOUR dog is the offender?
When someone complains to you about your noisy pet, the first thing that may come into mind is to get defensive and get offended as if you are
thought of as an irresponsible pet owner.
First of all, don't get offended nor place yourself into defensive mode, or risk having hostility issues with your neighbor. After all, your neighbor is
most probably just telling the truth, even if it does hurt.

Shouldn't all animals have the right to live? Dogs could receive and give happiness if they were not put down. Animals do not really have a chance to
actually live life. Many places simply do not have enough room for all of the animals, so they resort to euthanasia to control the population. There are
many dogs and cats that are euthanized only because they take up room.
The average yearly rate of healthy dogs that get euthanized is 1.5 million. That is 1.5 million opportunities to have a bestfriend or to give a dog an
amazing life. So many dogs are rejected because people want cute puppies to play with. What most people do not understand, is that grown dogs can
be just as energetic and cute as puppies. Also with most grown dogs, people would not have the hassle of house training the dog.
In some shelters, they are so crowded that puppies and kittens are euthanized. It is awful that some animals are killed before they get to really live.
Up to 600 puppies and 1.4 million cats are euthanized each year. Cats have a worse stereotype so they are adopted less.
Some people say that they, "Are not a cat person" and use that as their reason to not adopt cats. I used to not like cats very much, but after finding three

Though it varies by breed, the average lifespan of a dog is 12 years. Dogs go through 4 stages of the life cycle. The first stage is puppy. The second is adolescent. The third is adult. • 8. Descriptive Essay About Dog Boomer was one of the best dogs I ever had; he was a yellow Labrador Retriever. Ever since I was born, he had been my friend. I remember a few years ago, I was laying on the floor of my room and Boomer laid down with me, putting his arm over my back. He brought me great joy. I remember him as playful, caring, and a pretty big dog. He would never growl at me and was always eager to meet new people. Boomer was my to go to if I wasn't feeling good, or if I was upset. When I was in third grade, we got another dog, Oscar, and everything changed. He is a German Wirehair Pointer, they are bred to be hunting dogs. Now I had two dogs to play with. I asked my mom, "Where is Boomer?" and she answered, "Your dad and grandpa took him to the vet to be put down." I started crying as soon as she gave me this tragic news. Boomer dying was one of the worst things that has happened in my life. At school that day, I told Will all about it. I cried at school and didn't want to do anything. I wanted his food and water bowl taken away so I would forget all about what happened. Most mornings I would wake up crying about Boomer. I would dream of him most nights as well. My dad was very upset with Boomer dying too. He would talk to my mom about him a lot. I was upset for about a week when Boomer died. One day, Oscar and I went outside to throw around the dove. It brought me some relief that I still had Oscar to play with. I hung out with Oscar more than ever before. He would lay down with me, go outside with me, and follow me like a shadow. Oscar was upset too. He never barked before and now he would howl and bark like crazy because he was looking for Boomer. I spent more and more time with Oscar and he became my new best friend. Some places like Petco or Petsmart have classes that will train your dog without you being there! So you won't have to get off from work to or whatever to train your dog! If you can't take your dog with you on a trip then you can always put a dog in a kennel or you can let him stay with a loved one or friend! That way you won't be stressed out on your trip! The last thing that people say is that they like their house neat and tidy all the time, and dogs will just make it messy. Sure, dogs aren't the neatest creatures ever, but neither are we. To keep your house clean you'll either have to get someone to come and clean it or you'll have to clean it once or twice a week. Which really isn't that bad. • 11. Persuasive Essay On Dogs Known as man's best friend, the domestic dog is the greatest pet a person can have. Historically, the canine has been a companion of man for thousands of years. Dogs have become important members in individual's personal lives. They can also be utilized to benefit society as a whole. Dogs should be considered the greatest animal because they can provide health benefits, are able to accomplish unique jobs in society, and have profound meaning for people. When acquiring a dog, many only consider the emotional benefits that they will gain. However, dog ownership is also associated with several physical benefits. Owning a dog promotes an individual's physical health and can inspire them to live more active lives. When compared to non–dog owners, individuals with dogs live longer and more active lives. The active lifestyle that most dogs and their owners engage in, such as participating in walks, provides physical activity for the individual. Increased levels of physical activity help individuals manage their weight and promote heart health. Studies have revealed that dog ownership has been associated with lower levels of cardiovascular disease and death (Larned). Many individuals avoid dogs because they fear they are or will become allergic. However, dogs carry their own unique bacteria, which can have immune boosting benefits for their owners. Studies have also shown that dogs have the ability to detect some cancers and other health problems in their owners (Clark). Get more content on HelpWriting.net
