Throughout the semester, I have read various works of literature. Nowadays, there are millions of books available; however, only a couple that can
influence and develop our perspective on politics, religion, friendship, and love. Several works can even become a source of inspiration and
encouragement. Colloquially speaking, classical literature was quite captivating. It was generally referring to the literature of ancient Greece and
displayed Greek's civilization since ancient Greece was known as the cradle of Europe. Antigone for instance enlightened us that wisdom and piety
toward gods is what you need; furthermore, Gilgamesh explicated that greatness of civilization creates mortality of kings and death is inevitable.
However, from the several books I have read, I have decided to share my favorite work of literature which is Lord of the flies.
The lord of the flies did not disappoint me at the respect that I am huge fan of allegorical stories. Each event in the story has an allegorical message;
however, lord of the flies is peculiar since that it can be interpreted in several ways. For instance, it can be depicted as an allegory about civilization vs
savagery, world war or human psychology. One of the substantial contributing factors to read lord of the flies is that it is timeless and as closely

My favorite book is called The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn and it was written by Mark Twain. The book is about a thirteen–year–old boy called
Huckleberry Finn, who just became rich from his last adventure with Tom Sawyer (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer) and the Widow Douglas and her
sister, Miss Watson, wanted to take care of Huck and civilize him, but later, Huck sneaks out of the house at night and joinsTom Sawyer's gang. Later in
the story, Huck quits the gang because the adventures were illusory and also his dad, Pap, comes to the town and steals Huck from the Widow

When I was a child, my dad read to my sister and I on a regular basis. While we were young, he read fun kid's books, but as we got older he began to
read us more thought provoking things like a Christian novel, The Bronze Bow. My experience as a reader has been one with a fair bit of variety.
The book, Jason and the Gorgon's Blood, was really what got me into reading. Having always been fascinated with Greek Mythology, I think it was
the perfect gateway drug, so to speak. As time went on and I matured, I began reading things like Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, the second of which is
my favorite book. Other than books, my reading has consisted of various magazines that follow my interests and hobbies and some news articles
here and there. I have listened to audiobooks before and enjoyed them, but I prefer reading a physical book. I find my mind wanders less when I
have the words right in front of me, and it also gives me more time to process what's being said by the author when I have control over the reading.
What I learned in terms of reading and text–comprehension was from the book, The Well Educated Mind, by Susan Wise Bauer. In it she teaches
students to write down a sentence or two after each chapter of a new book to construct a broad outline. She also teaches how to ask questions like,
"Why did the author write this book?" and "How well did they succeed?" In past school–work I began to skim read texts and as I got older I slipped

When I was little my favorite Disney movie was the Jungle Book. My family and I would laugh so hard throughout the movie. Then last year Disney
came out with the newer Jungle Book with computer animation. When the movie came out my family and I were very excited to go see updated
movie. We wanted to see how different the movie was compared to the old Jungle Book. The difference between the new and the old surprised us with
the change of characters, style, and story variations.
The cartoon version of the jungle book characters there sizes are not too exaggerate. The sizes of characters in the realistic movie are more realistic
and some animals are proportions. Kaa is huge in the realistic movie and Kaa in the cartoon is not so big. When Mowgli meets Kaa, Kaa makes
Mowgli look very small. The cartoon Kaa is not as huge and does not make Mowgli look so small. The cartoon King Louie was no taller than
Mowgli and he sing and dance. In the CGI movie king Louie was really huge and making Mowgli and the other monkeys small. King Louie also look
more strict and not as goofy. The looks are different the cartoon version they are two dimensional. The characters are drawn in goofy personality to
make little children laugh. The cartoonish snarl, roar, and smiling does not seem very harmful. The CGI animals have more realistic details on them

I cannot remember a time in my life when I didn't love reading and writing. My favorite books during my early childhood mostly consisted of Dr.
Seuss books. I spent hours reading with my parents and on my own, we read a book before bed every night. When I was in Kindergarten I wrote
my first book, about bunny rabbits. I spent hours making two copies of my picture book about what I believed bunnies did. My older sister became
my first critic when she told me that my book was stupid and childish. I remember sobbing when a glass of water spilled on them and smudged the

has pleased me most is Munshi Prem Chand's 'Godaan'.
'Godaan', is Prem Chand's master–piece and ranks very high in the world of fiction. The book portrays the life of the poor villagers – Hari, Dhania and

When I was a child, my favorite book was Grover's Book of Little Cute Baby Animals. I would ask my mother if she could read it to me every day.
My parents thought that I enjoyed the book because I liked to read, but the real reason was that I adored the baby animals. Reading the book was
tedious to me, but I loved looking at the pictures. All through elementary school and junior high, reading and writing were never my favorite subjects. I
have always felt forced to read and write by my teachers, but I have never enjoyed them, because I have felt that the quality of my skills are low.
When I was in third grade, my teacher had a reading competition for my class. Whoever read the most books and had the most Accelerated Reader
points would win a trophy at the end of the year. Participation in the reading contest was mandatory. Whenever my teacher told me to read, I would
read. I did not enjoyed it, but I would still do it simply because my teacher told me to. However, I wanted to win that competition more than
anything. I wanted my fellow classmates to think that I was smart, because I didn't think that I was. I believed that if my teacher and other
students thought that I was an excellent reader, I would believe it as well. When I won that competition in May, everyone was cheering for me,
and I finally felt like I was adequate at reading. Unfortunately, that feeling did not last very long. By the next year, I again felt that I was not
sufficient enough at reading to be successful in the classroom. In seventh grade, I had an English teacher, Mrs. Putnam, who made me more
insecure about my reading and writing abilities than anyone ever had before. It was my very first GATE class, and I was determined to do well.
Therefore, whenever Mrs. Putnam told me to read or write, I would do it with my one hundred percent effort, even though I hated doing either of
them. I soon came to realize that her way of teaching made me extremely unconfident in my reading and writing. I remember one specific conversation

My love for sports began when I was five year olds and since then, it has been one of my biggest passions. I would set an alarm for 6:30 and wake

kind of strange... More like an emotional kind of strange. I admit to coming loose over this book. I realize that books that engage such emotions are
usually pleasant books. The feeling of this book wasn't life sucks. The feeling is that there are struggles and hard decisions in life, but friends come and
go depending on your choice of action. The ending was so tragic and heart breaking. The author really did destroy the best character in the book. A
lot of people dislike this book for many different reasons, but stuff like this happens every day! The characters are very well developed making you
feel everything they do, which I don't always possible with short books, but is very well achieved here.
This book is about a guy named Bryon. He lives with his mom and best friend Mark. Mark lives with him because of his parents died. Mark and Bryon
have been best friend's way before

My Favorite Character
My Favourite Character In The Road To Chlifa
I have read many books in all my school years. The book The Road to Chlifa is one of the most entertaining books I have read because of all the
feelings, adventure, and life lessons you can learn by reading this book. Ultimately the characters go through many hardships that allowed me to
connect with one of the characters. My favorite character from the novel is Maha Tabbarek because of her loving attitude towards his brother, strong,
and her rudeness.
First, Maha was not old enough to take care of her little brother Jad who was her only family, the rest of her family had died because of the bombing
that took place where she lived. She would do anything to stay with her little brother, no matter what she had to go through, you can see this when she
said on page 60 "No, itВґs the truth. Oh, donВґt worry. I donВґt especially want to die, and IВґm not going to throw myself into a bulletВґs path on
purpose.... But IВґd rather die with Jad than live without him. See, heВґs all I have left and IВґm all he has left." Also, Maha show her love toward Jad
by thinking of him and not wanting to be separated from him even when she is exhausted and unable to stay conscious, this is seen in pages 70–71
"'DonВґt worry about us. We know how to take care of ourselves,' Maha declares proudly. 'WeВ
ґre tough, you know.' But her whole body betrays her
words. SheВґs frail, pale, with dark shadows under her eyes. And, as Antoine Milad said, sheВґs having trouble keeping her eyes open. Karim thinks to
himself that it wonВґt do them much good if she drops from exhaustion after half an hour" this proves that even though she was tired she did not want
to be separate from Jad. This action showed how much she loved her brother.
In addition, Maha was a strong young girl. Despite being all alone and no having anyone she still managed to plan a way to stay with her brother, even
if it meant going trough any obstacle, the road that she decided to take was dangerous this was express on page 57–58 "'... then die a dozen deaths
before taking a dozen steps. You donВґt seem to realize that the road youВґre talking about goes right through the Christian stronghold, right through
the region most heavily bombed by
