Student Name and Number:
Albert Stasiulevicuis – 3290732
Project proposal title and date:
Tattoos and Body Piercings – 29th September 2021
Main area of activity:
I will be doing my project as a web documentary.
Target Audience:
My documentary is aimed at anyone from ages 16+, the documentary will be interestingto people this age
as they will beableto relate to it, the themes in the video will berelatable to many people.
Rationale:
We have justcompleted a practiseinterview, this is goingto be helpful for my project because it is goingto
includeinterviews, by doing this I have learnthow an interview should be conducted, for example making
sure the interviewee has finished whatthey were talkingabout, because they might have more to say.
We also used Photoshop to create twisted children’s stories,I researched dimensions, colours, fonttypes
and image types, I would liketo usethese skillsto create a front cover image for my web documentary
Project Concept:
I have chosen to focus on tattoos and body piercings for my project, in particular thereasons behind why
people get their tattoos and why they are so meaningful to them, itwill also focus on people’s opinions on
piercings –for example an older generation may look down more on piercings, and I will ask peoplein
interviews if they agree with this point and if so, why it is that way.
I have chosen to focus on this becauseitis quite personal to me, I have a lot of interactions on people who
have had body modifications, and I’malways interested in knowing why they decided to get them, and
with this in mind I think many other people would be too.
I would liketo interview a tattoo artistor a body piercer, to see what types of experiences they’ve had with
different people. I think it would be interesting to see the process of body modification, which is theside
that isn’tseen as much. I would be interested to see how different age groups choosewhat they aregoing
to have done, and if there aremore common piercings or tattoo styles among them.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will complete an ongoing evaluation; I will do this by filling out weekly forms explaining the work I
have done, the impact that it has on my project and also what I am going to aim to do throughout
the next week.
