2. Description
It happened between 1850 and 1914.
During this period, several technologies
were introduced, enabling mass
production, automation of work and the
emergence of various industries. There
was also a considerable increase in
companies and the improvement of the
steel industries. It took place in Britain,
Central Europe, North America and
Japan. At this moment, there were lots of
inventions, that we couldn't imagine how
it would be to live without now a days,
like the car and the light bulb.
3. Time Line
Karl Benz
created the
first modern
car: it was mov
ed by a
motor that used
steam as fuel
and could run
up to 10 miles
per hour.
1862: Alexander
Parkes created the first
plastic: he called
"parkesin" a resin made
from cellulose, flexible,
impermeable to water,
which could be molded
when heated and
maintained its shape
when cooled.
1866: Werner invented
a dynamo: it consisted
of a copper disc that
rotated in the magnetic
field formed by the
poles of a horseshoe
magnet and produced a
continuous electric
current
Alexander Graham
Bell created the first t
elephone, and the first
thing he said on a
call was: "Mr Watson,
come here. I want to
see you." '"
Thomas Edson created
the first light bulb: It
was made with a coal
filament inside a glass
bulb and kept lit for 45
hours. The invention
started been produced in
large scale when he
changed the coal for
tungsten

4. The
invention
of the car
Karl Friedrich
Michael Benz
lived between
1844 and 1929,
he was a German
automobile
engineer and
created the first
model of a car
moved by a motor.
The invention of the motor made m
any possibilities for the people, and
one of these is the car, invented in
1886 by Karl Benz.
He created a model that
was moved by steam and coud go
up to 10 mph
Today, we couldn't imagine our li
ves without a car, people use it ev
eryday for transport.
5. Evolution of the car
Karl benz
created the first
model of a car
moved by a
motor that used
steam
as fuel and could
run up to 10 miles
per hour.
Henry Ford changed
the way of production,
starting the moving
assembly line,
where people would
produce the
cars piece by piece
and made the
first car that was able
to change its parts.
1886 1904 1957 1976 2023
Made by volkswagen,
the Kombi was a
bigger car, created
with the ideia of
transporting more
people, like a whole
family.
One of the first
models of hybrid
cars ever created, it
could use electric
energy as fuel
besides gas, what
was a revolucionary
events in the
automobilistic
industry.
The new models
of car show lots of
new functions to
protect the driver and
passengers, besides
making the ride more
comfortable. The
picture shows the
Volvo XC90, one of
the newest and most
actual cars in history.
6. Why was it invented?
The car was ivevnted to make
people's life easier, by gaining time
and energy during the day, because
going everyday to work far from
home for example was really hard.
When it was created, people wanted
to buy and we can't imagine our lives
without a car now a days.
There were some models before
the one that Karl Benz created, but
no one worked really well, or there
was no motor, besides moving too
slow. It made people refuse to
purchase and use those cars.
7. The Map of
The world
The map in next slide shows:
• Green line: the Transcontinental Rai
lroad, that was the first continuous
railroad to cross the US, it was built
between 1863 and 1869.
• Red line: the immigration during the s
econd industrial revolution, where
more than 25 million of immigrats
came to the USA from all over the
Earth.
