1. SELF CONCEPT
• Self-concept is the perception that we have of ourselve.
• we ask ourselves the question “Who am I?” It is knowing about
one's own tendencies, thoughts, preferences and habits, hobbies,
skills, and areas of weakness.
2. •Types of Self Concept
1.Public self Concept:-information about the self, or an
integrated view of the self, that is conveyed to others in actions
self-descriptions,appearance,and social interactions.
2. Behavioral self Concept:-Behavioral self-managemen
is a tool that requires the student to play a role in their
actions and choices.
3. Ideal self Concept:-Ideal self is “the self-concept whic
the individual would most like to possess,upon which he place
the highest value for himself.
3. •Example of Self Concept:-
•It is how we perceive our behaviors, abilities, and
unique characteristics.
1 For example, beliefs such as "I am a good
friend" or "I am a kind person" are part of an
overall self-concept.
2 for examples of self-concept include: How you view
your personality traits, such as whether you are an
extrovert or introvert.
4. •Characteristics of Self Concept
•1:-Self image:-Self-image is the personal view,
or mental picture, that we
have of ourselves.
2. Self esteem:-Self-esteem is how we value
and perceive ourselves.
