Project Description:
Xerox is the Travelers Vendor, hired to provide services for Auto First Party Medical, Auto Liability,
General Liability and Workers Compensation claim medical bills scanning and indexing. Beginning with
Auto and Liability, the Xerox medical bill scanning process was implemented in 2010 on Xerox MCP2
platform. Workers Compensation was implemented shortly after, but on the newer, enhanced MCP3
platform.
So the purpose and benefits of this project implementation is to migrate Auto and Liability medical
bills scanning process from MCP2 to MCP3 platform to provide consistency across all LOBs and to be
able to realize the benefits of the improved platform.

The Enhanced 5010 Project allows for WC medical bill savings information gained through vendor billing
agreements to be transmitted back to Travelers. The involved vendors are Healthesystem, P2P and
Strata Care. Vendor changes allows receipt of Enhanced provider billing data on key medical services
like Durable Medical Equipment(DME), Home Health, Transportation, Translation and Physical Medicine.
Travelers receives the benefit of tracking these services more closely, as well as gaining the
information necessary to quantify ‘percent of savings’ for these services. Benefits of this
implementation is Travelers now able to identify the amount of savings that are being gained, track
their network penetration and apply the applicable services to the claim file as expenses.

On October 1, 2015, the ICD-10 code sets used to report medical diagnoses and inpatient procedures
will be introduced. Medical Bill Data feeds will contain ICD-9 & ICD-10 codes post October 1st for a
period of time. Testing of ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes is in scope for this strategic enhancement.
ICD-10 is the 10th revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health
Problems (ICD), a medical classification list by the World Health Organization (WHO). It codes for
diseases, signs and symptoms, abnormal findings, complaints, social circumstances, and external
causes of injury or diseases.
ICD-10 is much more than a technology implementation/roll-out and is dependent on other criteria,
both internal (i.e., business context) and external (i.e., business partners).
Major version of this project was implemented during Aug 2014 and the Enhanced business
requirements are implemented in this project to obtain more quality data from the medical bills.

Travelers claim Repricing service upgraded to use Decision Point V8.5 vs the Decision point V8.0 being
used in the year 2015. Until May 2015, Travelers used Decision Point V8.0 by Mitchell Medical for the
purpose of Auto and Liability claim re-pricing. Mitchell has thereafter released for versions for Decision
Point 8.1 to 8.5 which address some compliance requirements as well as technical enhancements for
better maintenance and performance.
Purpose of this project implementation is to address the compliance issues that could result in
regulatory fines, to use the latest EDI format and also the minimizing the risk of overpaying First Party
Medical bills due to workarounds.

Participants being critical functionality were part of legacy to asp.Net migration series which aimed
out eliminating green screen and bringing up latest technology developed applications. Participant’s
primary is the key driving factor in the insurance industry, where the contacts that are related to the
claim are being fetched with this functionality.
Having 2 migrations in pipeline, the project had data conversion from one DB model/mainframe
segments to an exclusive new DB with extended field values validation. We performed functional
testing, application integration testing, batch/bmp testing, data conversion validations etc. This
initiative was a part of strategic move in Travelers Indemnity company projects.
