What Is Rajiv Awas Yojana?
Rajiv Awas Yojana scheme encourages every State and Union Territories to handle
slums formally so that people of respective states and UTs can get the basic
amenities.
Rajiv Gandhi Awas Yojana also aims to provide low-cost housing facilities to the

Yojana?

The features and benefits of Rajiv Awas Yojana are discussed below -
 Rajiv Gandhi Housing Yojana follows 4 implementation strategies.
These include preparation of a slum-free city of plan and preparation of
projects for chosen slums.
 This scheme provides financial assistance to States/UTs/Urban Local
Bodies (ULBs)/Central Government Agencies.
 Further, this scheme offers financial aid for creating affordable housing
stock through public-private partnerships under the Affordable Housing
in Partnership, a part of Rajiv Awas Yojana.
 Under Affordable Housing in Partnership, the Central Government
provides financial support of ₹95,0000 per Economically Weaker
Section/ Low Income Group for Dwelling Units of the size of 21 to 40
sq. mt.
Types of Rajiv Awas Yojana Schemes
Rajiv Gandhi Awas Yojana Scheme has no such separate type. However, as per the
funding pattern, Rajiv Awas Yojana can be classified into three categories. This
segregation of cities is done on the basis of population as per the 2011 census.
 A: Includes individuals living in cities or Urban Agglomeration with a
population of15 lakhs or above.
 B: Includes individuals living in cities or Urban Agglomeration with a
population less than 15 lakh.
 C: Includes individuals living in cities or Urban Agglomeration in
North Eastern Region and special category States (Jammu & Kashmir,
Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand).
As per this, category A will get funding with an upper limit of ₹10 lakh. Similarly,
category B will receive ₹ 8 lakh, and category C will get ₹10 lakh.
Eligibility Criteria of the Rajiv Awas Yojana Scheme
 All the beneficiaries mentioned in the previous section are eligible for
this scheme.
 Rental and housing are also eligible under this scheme.
 Project size of a minimum of 500 dwelling units (DUs) is eligible for
Affordable Housing in Partnership, a part of Rajiv Awas Yojana.

Atal Vihar Yojana
 The Haryana Home Nirman Board has been given a target of constructing one lakh houses for
different income groups under Atal Vihar Yojana by the government. For the scheme, land is
being provided by the government to the board at the rate of Rs.1.00/sq.ft and under this scheme,
the beneficiaries of weaker income group will get Rs. 80,000.00 and low income group
beneficiaries are being given a grant of Rs.40,000.00 per beneficiary per house. Apart from this, it
is also proposed to give a grant of Rs.50,000.00 per beneficiary per house to the workers
registered in their department by the Labor Department. Under the scheme, one lakh houses are
proposed to be constructed in different places of the state. Under the scheme, 14 places in 12
districts of Chhattisgarh state (Pendri - Rajnandgaon, Parsada - Durg, Machewa - Mahasamund,
Chokawada - Jagdalpur, Arang - Raipur, Shriram Nagar - Kanker, Dharamjaygarh, Sarangarh and
Atramuda - Raigarh, Mainpuri - Kawardha,
 Atal Awas Yojana
 Under Atal Awas Yojana, Rs. Government land has been provided at the rate of 1.00/sq.ft and a
grant of Rs.50,000.00 per building has also been given. In this scheme, two rooms, kitchen, toilet
and bathroom have been constructed on a plot of 560.00 square feet with a chair area of 280.00
square feet. A total of 8807 buildings are constructed/under construction under the scheme.
 Deendayal Awas Yojana
 Government land has been provided by the government under Deendayal Awas Yojana. In this
plan, ground floor or two-storey/three-storey buildings have been constructed according to the size
of the site.

buildings of high income group, middle income group, low income group and weak income group

 Kushabhau Thackeray Housing Scheme

The Govt. of India has revamped the Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) as Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-

Rs.1.20 lacs in plain areas and Rs.1.30 lacs in hilly/difficult areas will be provided to the beneficiaries to
construct IAY houses. In addition to this, an amount of Rs.18,000/- as Top up amount by the State Govt.
and Rs.12,000/- will be provided under convergence for construction of Sanitary Latrine to the beneficiary.
Under MGNREGA, out of total 90 unskilled person days in the plain areas & 95 unskilled person days in
hilly/difficult areas will be permitted employment to the IAY beneficiaries for construction of their houses.
Identification of beneficiaries
To cover eligible beneficiaries of certain categories who may be living scattered within a Village
Panchayat, the individual household approach can be used. First priority should be given to families of
manual scavengers, including those rehabilitated and rehabilitated bonded labourers. Thereafter the priority
to be given is as follows:-

1. Women in difficult circumstances, including widows, those divorced or deserted, women victims of
atrocities and those whose husbands are missing for at least three years, and, women headed families.
1. (a) Households with a single girl child.
2. Mentally challenged persons (with at least 40% disability)
3. Physically challenged persons (with at least 40% disability)
4. Transgender persons
5. Widows and next-of-kin of members of defence/paramilitary/police forces killed in action (even if not
BPL);

Procedure to view SECC family members
details
 First of all, the applicant should first visit the official website of PMAY Gramin .
 After this the home page will open in front of you.
 On the home page, you have to go to the Stakeholders option.
 Here you will see some options in which you have to click on SECC Family Members Details .
 On the new page, you have to enter your state and PMAY ID .
 After which you have to click on Get Family Members Details .
 On clicking, the relevant information will appear on the screen in front of you.
How to check application status?
 To check the application status, first of all visit the official website of PMAY Gramin .
 On the home page, click on the option of application status .
 On the new page, enter the Application Number and click on View Application Status.

which you go to the search option and write the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme and
click on the search . On clicking, a list will open in front of you. Click on the option at the

be downloaded to your phone . Which you can get information by opening it.

3. On the home page, click on the menu bar option.
4. Now click on the Feedback option.
5. After which the feedback form will open in front of you.

number etc.
7. Now click on submit .
8. After which your feedback process will be completed.
