BRAC Approach and Strategy for 2016-2020
• GJD has shifted its role of implementing independent projects to work with
exiting BRAC programmes/ departments/ enterprises for gender
mainstreaming and scale up the learning across programme for wider
impact
• BRAC Gender Strategy 2016-2020 emphasizes on coordinated actions to
address violence against women & children and men’s engagement in
support of women's empowerment and gender equality across all BRAC
initiatives.
• The GJD plan/interventions are closely aligned with BRAC’s Strategy
2016-2020 which states ‘promoting gender equality and women’s
empowerment through integrated actions for women’s empowerment
across programmes’.
• It is also linked with 7th five year plan of Bangladesh Government and
international context SDG 5,10 & 16).
