Ion Exchange India Ltd. deals with total environment solutions - water treatment, liquid waste treatment &
recycle, air pollution control, solid & hazardous waste management and generation of energy from waste
and manufactures specialty chemicals like flocculant, anti-foam etc. The speciality chemicals product range
for the mining and mineral processing sector have application in industries such as Alumina Refining, Iron
Ore Beneficiation, Coal Washeries etc. Flocculant has application in solid - liquid separation of fine alumina
red mud particles & alumina impregnated caustic liquor in alumina refinery, thickeners of coal washeries and
iron ore beneficiation, antifoam for the alumina red mud washing and alumina precipitation circuits.
Job Responsibilities:
 Treatment on solid liquid separation in thickeners

Solar photocatalytic cleaning and disinfection of cotton fabric with doped ZnO nanoparticles
Guide: Dr. Sampa Chakrabarti, University of Calcutta, Kolkata
This project comprises:
Synthesis of Ag doped ZnO nanoparticle & coating of this on cotton fabric.
Measurement of self-cleaning ability & anti-microbial activity of those fabrics.
The main aim is to prepare a smart textile which will have self-cleaning & antimicrobial property so
that frequent washing would not be required.

6 weeks “In Plant Training” at Himadri Chemicals and Industries Limited, Singur, Hoogly. Process
involved is coal tar distillation and carbon black production
