Ayush Agarwal – Founder
Ayush has completed his MBA in Finance from BIM Trichy and B com Honors from St. Xavier’s College Kolkata. He has a work
experience of 33 months in Banking and Consulting with HSBC, State Bank of Patiala and i3 Consulting. Currently he is working as a
Project Manager with a Risk Consulting startup in Kolkata. He also works as a Freelancer and his area of expertise includes Corporate
Finance, Valuation, Financial Planning and Analysis, Strategy and Team Management.
Role to be played in LaundryBasket : His exposure of working with startups will give him a head start in building his business from
scratch. He has experience of managing teams comprising of varied age groups and as a Project Manager has been involved in the
entire life-cycle of a Project from Origination to Deliverable. His business expertise would help him in dealing with Investors, Business
Partners(employees). As a growth oriented individual, he would always be looking to take his company forward on the success ladder.

3. Problem/Pain-Point(s) which our Product is Trying to solve
• Laundry is a perennial problem with almost all households in India. People are unwillingly forced to spend their leisure time
on Laundry every week.
• Current alternatives available to Our Target Market includes:
1. Giving clothes to Laundry Outlets
2. Washing themselves or
3. Employing a maid.
• The first two options requires people to be physically involved in the process either by delivering and collecting the clothes
to/from the shop or undertaking the tedious task of washing clothes at home. Both these activities consume Time and in
this fast paced world, people are always running short on time.
• The 3rd option though sounds quite familiar , but has seen its importance eroding over time due to the high rates maids are
charging coupled with the deteriorating quality.
An average Indian spends around 1 hour every week doing laundry which extrapolates to 52 hours in a year!
4. Our Solution for this Problem
• Our Mobile App will provide a one stop solution to people’s Laundry needs.
• We care about other people’s time and hence our App would allow them to schedule a Pick up Date, Time
and Location (Home, Office, Or Anywhere) as per their convenience. Our representative will come to their
doorstep to collect the clothes and after the required treatment, we would deliver back the clothes to the
desired location of the user. We won’t be charging a single penny for the Pick up and Delivery. We help you
save your precious TIME.
• We know, people love to enquire about the status of their order and hence we would also provide them
with a real time order tracking feature.
• We understand people love their clothes , so we would take care of them as if they are our own. For this,
We would build a team comprising of professionals in this field (who understand different
materials/textures, how each material should be treated), thereby ensuring Quality.

7. Revenue Model
Primary source of Revenue is through B2C Domain, i.e. the customers who would pay to get their clothes cleaned.
• Laundry is a very price sensitive market, hence PRICING plays the most pivotal role. We plan to introduce Differential Pricing
Strategy. We would create two categories for Cloth Fabric : Premium and Regular. Moreover, we would be charging our
customers on Per Kg basis. ( Clothes given only for Ironing will be on Per piece basis)
• The customer has the option of selecting the category and would be charged accordingly. So if the customer selects Premium
category, then he would be charged a little extra for the same as compared to the Regular category.
• We would also offer different Packages and Discounts to our customers like:
- Monthly packages, Special Discounts on Dry Cleaning of Suits/Blazers and Sarees, etc.
- Give 5 kgs of clothes for washing and ironing and get 1 kg free and so on.
- Tie-ups with Websites like Groupon, Couponduniya etc. to offer attractive coupons and discount packages to our customers.
Going Forward we would like to enter into B2B domain with Tie-ups with Hotels and Hospitals for providing them a One stop
solution for all their Laundry needs.
We would also seek to have possible Tie- up with Corporates to offer Laundry coupons to their employees very similar to
Sodexo Coupons.

• We are currently focusing on Kolkata market.
• Our immediate Target Group would include :

Going forward we would be targeting Hotels and Hospitals also to enter the B2B Domain.
• Urban Kolkata has a population of 4.8 Millions, out of which 38% falls in the age bracket of (20-40) i.e. 1.8 millions approx. With
an Average Ticket size of INR 500, the Total Urban Kolkata market stands at almost INR 1 Billion.
• Kolkata is currently placed at 3rd position for the number of Internet users in India according to a survey conducted by Internet
and Mobile Association of India.
• As per the recent KPMG report, Number of mobile internet users in India is more than 50% of the Total Internet users in India
which is around 354 millions at that the time of the report.
• Kolkata has started embracing technology for their daily needs. Convenience has become a key aspect of every transaction they
make. The sheer number of Ola and Uber cabs on road, increasing orders of FoodPanda, Grofers, etc. bears testimony to the fact
that Mobile App as a delivery channel has become a HIT amongst the youth and adults alike.

• We are not creating an entirely new market, we are jumping into the Red ocean and trying to extend the delivery channel

10. Potential Problems and Proposed Solution
Keeping up with
scheduled pick up
and delivery time
Every delivery boy will have a pre defined area. The app on worker’s side will be managed so
efficiently that orders pop up according to geographical location of the delivery boy. However, traffic jams or some
other things which are out of control might cause a delay on rare occasions. To sort out this problem,
We would send notifications to the customer informing about the same.
We would offer attractive pay to our Delivery partners and also offer them Free laundry Coupons and
special discounts to retain their loyalty.
