Introduction
Hello dear Viewers
My name is Bilal Ahmad I am a teacher, presently working in
High School Salamabad Dachina Educational Zone
Chandanwari District Baramulla, of union territory of Jammu
and Kashmir.
Here I am sharing my innovative ideas regarding VAM Project and
the title of my project is:
Title: Innovative and Creative ways of teaching Geography
through Art and Audio Visual Aids
Challenge
I teach Geography to class 7th. I have 38
students in my class. Despite using a variety of
Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs), I am
standing up against a Challenge in attaining
the learning outcomes. I determined to review
the situation of, why my students were not
attaining the learning outcomes.
 An important topic that I am about to teach is water cycle, to
my learners, I made a possible effort to make the lesson
interesting and easy to comprehend. But I observed that the
students cannot make up to the topic fully and the main objective
still remained far from being achieved.
I analyzed my teaching methodologyand realized that I was not involving
any activity or using pedagogicalstrategies to attract my students' attention
towards the concept.I also realized that the way I was using the TLMs led
to a lot of mismanagementleading to confusion among the students, as a
result the desired learning outcomes could not be attained in a stipulated
time frame.
I identified that my students found it difficult to understand and
recognize the concept, memorize the water cycle and its rotation
thus visualizing the process of the water cycle given in the text.
My VAM Project Objective
 To ensure that students achieve the desired learning outcome of connecting
the text and visualize the things in real sense by trying a new pedagogy while
reading the given lesson on their textbook.
 I decided to work on the learning outcomes where students "connect the
text and visualize the same by trying a new pedagogy.’’
This is what I did -
 To make the students understand the concept better.
 I decided to use various teaching learning resources TLM(globe,maps,digitalaids)
which I learned during my B Ed course.I used every possible visualizedmethod
available on any learning platform.
I decided to show the digital resources by using my laptop during
teaching learning process in the classroom with the children.
I drew the images of each topic on the whiteboard and asked the
students to draw the same on their notebooks, with the name of each
concept, ( collection, evaporation, , condensation, precipitation ….)
I observed that some of the students did not have crayons, sketch
pens and other painting materials. So I organised a painting
competition in the class room and provided them the material.
I prepared a check list of students with the result given below.
I asked students to prepare a painting of each stage of the water cycle.
Images given below are prepared by students.
 The following day, I carried out a recapitulationexercise in the class room to asses the students and
find out whether the group is able to visualize and practically show the journey of the water cycle
from the initial to the final stage. I noticed that a few students were still not able to respond well.

 A role play activity was carried out in the class room where the students were asked to
demonstrate the lesson one by one and present their drawings, home work etc to the class.
I observed that all the students in my class learned the concept and meaning of each stage
of the water cycle fully and eventually I had achieved the desiredlearning outcome.

Impact of my Project
 I adopted the same pedagogy at regular basis at the end of each class and assigned the same task
to students to prepare the painting of each topic. This boosted the interest of art among the
students while they enjoyed it and were able to understand each concept fully in a holistic way.
Action steps taken
 First of all I explained the concept of water cycle through graphic
representation on the whiteboard.
 Secondly I used the teaching learning material available to make
the concept vivid and comprehensible.
 In order to improvise and make it simple I devised a new strategy to
teach the concept through art and audio visual aids by making
students to compete with each other .
