Journey Of A School To 1,540% ROI (An Effective
School Marketing Strategy)
After 몭nishing business school, I started working as a marketing of몭cer for
an international school.
When I joined the school, they were not using any form of digital marketing
to increase their enrollments, except for occasional posting on Facebook.
They were completely dependent on traditional forms of marketing and
were struggling hard to hit their admission goals.
At that time, I took charge of establishing their presence on the internet
with the help of digital marketing and digital advertising.
The 몭rst thing I did was getting its website completely revamped so it
re몭ects the brand and is also matching the latest design trends.
Next, I established their social media presence and started a strategy for
making it stronger.
Then came the time for improving their reach on search engines, so I
started working on SEO.
As it was an international school whose target audience falls even in Russia
and China, international SEO became an important part of it as well.
Finally, it was time to start working on Google advertising. Within a few
months, all digital marketing efforts paid off, and we got our 몭rst admission
through it. Can you guess the return on investment?
Result Of Implementing This School Marketing Strategy
One student through digital marketing efforts (after removing the
entire marketing team’s salary and other marketing expenses) was
120%. Being a residential school, a student also has to pay boarding
120%. Being a residential school, a student also has to pay boarding
fees, changing ROI to 220%.
This doesn’t end here. The majority of the students join that school
when they were in 6th or 7th grade.
That means the lifetime value now becomes 6 or 7 times the above-
mentioned ROI or 1,320%  or 1,540% respectively.
Anything that can transform your ROI into four 몭gures is de몭nitely
worth paying attention to. I am not even counting how much these
students pay in donations after passing out from the school.
Most of them even donate a portion of their estate in their will. In
reality, the ROI is even bigger than that.
Now, when you know how digital marketing can actually skyrocket your

to repeat the same results that I achieved for that school.

A pandemic can come without any warning and the most we can do is

A threat always comes with a lot of hidden opportunities. Take the
‘Zoom’ company for an example.
COVID proved a big opportunity for them rather than a danger. Their
business 몭ourished like anything during these times and now they are
one of the biggest video communication providers for other
businesses.
If you had a strong digital presence yourself before your business was
hit by the pandemic, you would not have been affected so much by it.
You would have been ready to take advantage of this gap created by
the pandemic and students’ insatiable need for education even in
tough times.

Working in that international school, I have got a chance to be a part of
every form of marketing ranging from digital to traditional.
We organized trade shows, participated in education fairs,
distributed pamphlets, advertised in print magazines, and organized
expensive events for parents in every country.
Can you guess which marketing action brought the best results when
looked at terms of the investment? Digital marketing!
Not just it proved highly effective, it also reduced the number of effort,
time, and money needed for getting one admission.

Whenever I worked on the print advertising strategy for that school, I
inquired about various magazines’ reach and their current readership.
Noting ever showed a reach as good as we see on digital channels.
The digital world provides access to a higher number of the right

If they have a positive experience and they share it online, it doesn’t

effects of old word-of-mouth marketing.

becomes an important asset to earn for any business.
Students spend a lot of time on the internet, consuming
information.
Based on this information, they participate in the decision-
making process with their parents about their educational goals.
They don’t 몭nalize any institute school or college without seeing
enough social proof that puts their doubts to rest.

Half of the world’s population is on Facebook and a similar
number is present on Instagram.
If you’re not doing social media marketing, you are missing out on
an easy opportunity to connect with many potential customers

Educational selling needs a long-term commitment from a buyer. It’s
not like a retail product that you can easily replace or get rid of if you
