Universal Primary Education is extremely important in creating a better world for our children. Many children that should be in school, aren't. This needs to be addressed and fixed

1. UNIVERSAL PRIMARY EDUCATION

2. Why does is resonate with me?
◦ This topic I chose is universal primary education which speaks to me because I aspire to become a teacher
and I realize how much of a problem universal primary education is.
◦ Education is an important part in everybody's life and if you can't achieve that then it is a big problem
◦ If a school system isn’t safe and has easily accessible running water and a safe environment, then it can't
allow students to flourish

3. How can it be applied locally?
◦ My interest can be applied locally because a lot of the schools in Tacoma are dealing with poverty
◦ The Tacoma public school district has many schools that have less than middle income students and this
creates a shortage of money for the school
◦ Less money for the school means a teacher shortage which doesn’t allow students to be taught the
information they need to be taught

4. Where can I make a personal contribution?
◦ I can go down to some schools that may be impoverished, and I can donate either money or school supplies
◦ That contribution would allow many students who may not have enough money to buy new school supplies a
chance to get some
◦ This also would help teachers who have had to spend their own money funding the classroom

5. Social media?
◦ As of now I don’t think there is a social media feature that can be applied to this goal.
◦ There isn’t an app that tells you which school is in poverty; however you can contact the school district's
directly and ask if they would be willing to take a donation of school supplies or money
