he Indus System The Indus System is one of the largest river basins of the world. It is also known as the Sindhu, is the westernmost of the Himalayan rivers in India. It originates from a glacier near Bokhar Chu (31°15' N latitude and 81°40' E longitude) in the Tibetan region at an altitude of 4,164 m in the Kailash Mountain range. The Indus River is one of the longest rivers in Asia. It flows through China, India and Pakistan. Originating in the Tibetan Plateau in the vicinity of Lake Manasarovar, the river runs a course through the Ladakh region of India, towards Gilgit-Baltistan and then flows in a southerly direction along the entire length of Pakistan to merge into the Arabian Sea near the port city of Karachi in Sindh. It is the longest river of Pakistan. The Indus River provides key water resources for Pakistan's economy – especially the breadbasket of Punjab province, which accounts for most of the nation's agricultural production, and Sindh. The word Punjab means "land of five rivers" and the five rivers are Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Beas and Sutlej, all of which finally flow into the Indus. The Indus also supports many heavy industries and provides the main supply of potable water in Pakistan.

 This river originates high altitude in Himachal
Pradesh.
 And enter the Jammu and Kashmir and flow 290

The largest tributaries of Indus system has its source
in the trans Himalayas at south west of Tibetian lakes
and Mansarovar.

 The Beas River (Sanskrit: Vipasha) is a river in north
India.
 Total length –470 km
 Catchment area – 12130 km²
 IMC (28.28%), minor carp (22.44%), common carp
(22.02%)
 54 species
 As of 2017 the river is home to a tiny isolated population
of the Indus dolphin.
