3. PELOTONIA
Pelotonia is another bike-a-thon in
New Albany, Ohio
The movement was founded in 2008
in a stride to fund cancer research
and preventative treatment.
“Pelotonia is able to direct 100
percent of every rider-raised dollar
to cancer research at The Ohio State
University Comprehensive Cancer
Center – James Cancer Hospital and
Solove Research Institute.”
4. Bike MS
Bike MS is an
organization raising
money to fight
multiple sclerosis.
Bike MS holds
events almost all
year around the
country for people
to participate in.
The courses include
up to 150 miles of
biking.
Bike MS
encourages people
to come out to
their events even if
they cannot
participate in the
race.
5. THON
THON raises money for pediatric cancer and hosts an event on
Penn State’s campus every year.
THON was created in 1973 by former IFC president Bill Lear.
In 2017 THON raised over ten million dollars for pediatric care and
research.
The event is held one weekend out of the year and includes many
different activities.
