- 2. China Pakistan economic corridor (CEPC) is bouquet of infrastructure projects currently under construction throughout Pakistan, at a cost of $46 billion. China’s investment in CPEC is not small; The funds are equal to a fifth of Pakistan’s annual GDP and more than twice the entire amount of foreign direct investment Pakistan has received since 2008. Why china invested huge amount? There would be some reason behind this. In this article we discuss how much china Pakistan economic Corridor (CPEC) is beneficial for Pakistan and China? Is it game changer for Pakistan? Which country gets more advantage from CPEC?
- 3. After completion of the corridor, it will become a primary gateway for trade between China and Africa and the Middle East. It is expected that this corridor will help cut the 12,000 kilometer route. There are a lot of benefit of CPEC but there are also some risk involve related to security, India involvement, separatist rebellion in Baluchistan and Economic factor.
- 4. • The karakoram highway (kkh) was started in 1959 and was completed in 1979 (open to the public since 1986). • It connects China's Xinjiang region with Pakistan's Gilgit– Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regions. • Chinese interest in Pakistan's deep-water at Gwadar had been created generate by 1998 and in 2002 China began construction at Gwadar port which was completed in 2006. • May 2013 when Chinese Premier Li Keqiang emphasized the construction of the CPEC during his visit to Pakistan. He signed the CPEC agreement at that time.
