5. CSR COMMITTEE IN TAJ
The structure of CSR Committee is designed in such a pattern so that
there is no room for any confusion in following the directives of the
committee properly.
The committee comprises of one independent director and three
directors in the committee board.
The main responsibility of this committee will be as follows:-
Recommending and formulating the policy of CSR which indicate
the activities which are laid down as per the Schedule VII of the act
of Section 135.
Providing the Board a suggestion on the expenditure of the CSR
activities.
Monitoring the implementation of the policy from time to time.
6. TARGET COMMUNITIES AND PROJECT

situation. Presently 2% of the average net profit will be spent on
these activities as well as it should be approved by the board. Any
Surplus or which may be generated from the projects of CSR should
not be a part of the business profit. On the contrary this amount will
be invested in the next project or on any other activity in the following

2009:-Taj announces their new premium hotel as Viventa by Taj
which is located in Goa, Panaji, and the upper scale segment
2008:-Taj has joined the hands with the Tashi group to open Taj Tashi
hotels in Bhutan.
2004:-In the Usha kiran palace in Gwalior it has opened the Juva
spa, it is considered as the first economy class hotel in Bangalore
under the Ginger brand.
2001: Taj group was awarded for opening Taj Palace in Dubai.
1980:- It has opened first hotel in outside India in Yemen as Taj
Sheba hotel in Sana’a.
