How to fix it guide
1. Do all of the
Fresnel’s obtain a
G-Clamp and a
Safety chain
Once the Inventory has been used to check that all the equipment can be located
in the drama studio, you are now able to begin to install/set up the following
systems; Lighting, Sound and Projection. Below is a How to Fix it Guide into
setting up the Drama Studio with the correct equipment.

Are there 10
Fresnel’s in the
Rig?
NoYes
If No, Fresnel’s
can be located at
the back of main
hall, to the right of
the doorway.
The Fresnel will
then need to be
rigged onto the
bar. Please see the
section Titled
rigging.
2. Safety chains must
be attached to the
Fresnel and around
the bar in the rig.
The G-Clamp
should be hooked
around one of the
bars on the rig
(preferably near a
plug socket.)

above the lighting

Do the Fresnel’s have
Barn Doors?
Yes No
3. Barn Doors must
be fastened to
the Fresnel, the
Barn Doors will
slide into
position.
If No, Barn doors
can be located at
the back of the
hall above the
lighting rack.
Do the Fresnel’s
contain a Gel and
Gel Frame?
NoYes
If No, Coloured Gels
can be found in the
silver cabinet at the
back of the hall to
right. (Coloured gels
can be cut to the
required size if
necessary). Gel
Frames can be found
next to the Barn
Doors.
4. Make sure all
three clips are
attached to the
gel frame; the slot
positioned at the
top of the Fresnel
is where the Gel
Frame will slide
into.
Are the plugs
plugged into the
plug sockets
correctly?
NoYes
Make sure all 3
rods are firmly
into the 15 amp
socket within the
rig.
Is the Lamp Tray
pushed in
correctly?
5. NoYes
The lamp tray is located
underneath the Fresnel. If
it is loose, obtain a screw
driver from the back of
the hall and a Ladder
(also located in the
Drama studio) and try to
tighten it so that the tray
is fully shut. If unable to
perform the task please
seek advice from the
performing arts
technician Julie Parker.
(Julie can be located in
her office at the back of
the hall.)
Are the knobs on the
Fresnel underneath
when hung in the
rig?
NoYes
If No the Fresnel
is upside – Please
refer to the
section Titled
Rigging.
6. Are the plugs of the
Fresnel’s in the
correct sockets
within the rig? And
do they correlate
with the Dimmers?
No
Yes
The socket numbers in
rig should correlate to
the Dimmer numbers for
example if there is a light
that is plugged into
socket 15 in the rig it
should also be plugged
into number 15 on the
dimmers in order for the
light to work
Is the 32 mains amp
plugged in?
NoYes
Plug the 32 mains amp
plug into the 32 main
amp socket (it is blue
and grey and contains 3
pins.)
7. DO NOT PLUG MAINS IN
UNTIL EVERYTHING IS
CHECKED OVER YOU SHOULD
CONNECT EVERYTHING UP
BEFORE YOU POWER IT UP!
Everything should now be
installed correctly. If the lights
are not working seek technical
advice from Julie Parker the
performing arts technician
(office is located at the back of
the hall.)
