Anki King taught an excellent oil painting workshop that provided students with in-depth knowledge of different painting mediums and techniques. She created a supportive environment that encouraged personal expression and experimentation. Students felt empowered to push their creative limits. The small class size allowed for individual attention. Students learned a variety of applications of paint and came away with new perspectives on their work. The workshop was well structured and engaging, with daily lessons tailored to different concepts.

1. Student Feedback and Images - Anki King
 Anki was on time and well organized. She was clear, covered all the basics, encouraged questions,
and was generous with her knowledge. There were printed synopsis of each class' content, so
there was written backup in case we forgot some of the details later.
She provided in-depth information on each element of oil painting, and brought in several
different mediums to assist us with trying different approaches. She provided other working
materials, and brought in visual and audio elements to enrich our perceptions of the possibilities
of oil painting. While her teaching was systematic and thorough, she was simultaneously able to
create a freeing and encouraging environment for working. It was non-judgmental, and she has
the ability to step in to help but also to hold off and allow personal expression.
This class had clear positive energy, and Anki is really gifted at removing the fear and awe of the
medium from her students. The end result is that I felt free (and I know others did too) to
experiment and push our limits! In short, excellent teacher!!! A+
 As for the workshop no real improvements need to be made. What would be great is to have Anki
King teach a regular class at the League. We could learn so much from her.
 Anki King is a very talented painter, but she certainly has the gift of teaching.
I have spent 5 days, and a total of about 18 hours in her class, and I have never been bored one
second. Extremely precise and clear, it is obvious that Angie is passionate about her art, and loves
to share with generosity..
Each class was extremely well prepared, and the rythme and methodology well thought about.
She is strong but sweet and elegant in the same time. A natural teacher! And a wonderful Painter
herself. Thank you Anki!
 It made me think about my work in a new way.
 Teacher was very attentive to each student. She got us to explore applying paint in various ways
and styles. Very informative. Each of us left with really great work from where we started from.
 Anki encouraged her students to experiment freely, and not be inhibited by traditional
methodology. She was non judgmental, and offered many helpful suggestions. She was totally
engaged with all her students. Anki developed a series of daily lessons that were structured
around different concepts and paint applications. She was a stellar instructor, I learned a lot from
this workshop and really enjoyed it.
 Learning what can be done with oils, both thick and thin. Mixing with different mediums to create
different textures with paint. Helping me get over my fear of the 'fat over lean' rule with layers.
Discovering monoprints with oil paint. I'm now less worried about the technical aspects of oil
paint so that I can concentrate on the creative side. Small class, good fun, individual attention.
Seeing how the others in the class interpreted the projects we were given so that I could see
different ways to use the paint.

2.  Instructor had knowledge and experience with the subject, great teaching skills, wonderful
personality, and was very generous with supporting information and materials. Course was
perfectly designed for the time frame, easily accommodated students from diverse backgrounds,
and provided skills that were easily mastered during the course (I immediately applied them to a
painting at home). Materials were relatively inexpensive and easy to assemble. For me, it was
perfect.
