Project Description :
Powertrain is an engine development department responsible to develop new engine
and transmission including for Preve’ and Exora Bold model. With the introduction of a
new product line requires new engine and transmission oil. Thus, Proton has embarked
collaboration with national oil company, Petronas Bhd to develop new oil for factory
filled and after market.
Responsibilities:
1) Lead and execute collaboration with Petronas Bhd to initiate the oil
development related to Powertrain area throughout the project.
2) Providing technical support to the project team.
3) Prepare contract documentation for procurement services and materials.
4) Part inbound outbound management with logistic team and transporter.
5) Liaising with vendors on a regular basis to ensure the successful
design and manufacture of products to agreed budgets and time
frames.
6) Lead subordinate under project section.
Achievements / Skills obtained:
Managed to secure a funding from Petronas Bhd of RM 0.5mil for project
activity.
Established cost and technical benefit analysis of proposed product changes
to be implemented in future engines. Management approved to proceed.
Excellent leadership skill to manage and monitor Project team
technician to ensure job task implementation.
Extensive experience of engineering development and testing,
project management, design & vendor liaison.
Travelled to suppliers in China with Quality team to initiate new
transmission development for future engines and represent Powertain in

Project Description :
The department is required to seek alternatives engine and transmission
technology to match with future product range. The latest model in the
development is Persona with an upgraded engine. The department is also required
to execute a feasible study to satisfy market requirement of having a Turbo engine.
Responsibilities:
1) Managing projects from conception, pre-production through to completion.
2) Ensure all development work is carried out in accordance with
specifications, statutory requirements, laws, rules, regulation and other
contractual requirements.
3) Bill of Material cost monitoring to ensure within budget and to keep cost
down.
4) Update project status to management and prepare documents for approval.
5) Prepare contract documentation for procurement services and materials.
Achievements / Skills obtained:
6 months On-Job-Training to Lotus Engineering in Norwich, UK to lead and
carry out feasibility study activity with Lotus engineering team.
Project leader and successfully execute main task given which is
commencement of vehicle build up activity in Lotus, UK within target time
and budget.
Budget request/monitoring of RM 91mil for project execution.
Achieve reduction of RM 110/part with total of 60k production
capacity for department cost reduction activities.
Attended business meeting to overseas suppliers in Europe (UK, France &
Belgium) and Asia (Japan) to participate in project initiation discussion and
support unresolved issues related to Project Management.

Project Description
New engine and transmission development for Saga model. Development activity
involving main supplier from Japan and local vendors. Another ongoing project is
the factory filled engine oil development to replace current lower grade engine oil.
Responsibilities:
1) Coordinate engine oil development with Petronas Bhd.
2) Project Management support in Saga new engine development project.
3) Project support in department cost down activities for current / future parts.
4) Project support for part purchasing and logistic.
5) Project support in Petronas engine oil development.
