 Claude Shannon
 Showed how Boolean Algebra could be applied
electrically to make digital calculations.
 Established the field of information theory in 1948
 His work is the basis on which todays modern
computers run.

 Worked on the Unix operating system
 Modified ‘B’ into ‘C’,
 Language ‘C’ gave the Unix many advantages
 ‘C’ and the Unix are the basis for many programming
languages and operating systems used today.
