 14 years’ experience in Queensland Police Service and have developed exemplary communication and interpersonal

 Successfully self-managed the 2011 Queensland Police and Emergency Services Games with 1000 competitors and 30
sports across the state with a budget of approximately $90,000.
 Proactively implemented, coordinated and managed the i naugural ‘I Practice Safe Cyber' Youth Festival. A crime
prevention and educational initiative consisting of markets, educational marquees and a skate scooter and BMX
competition. The night youth festival consisted of a music festival (as an initiative as the local Adopt-a-Cop).
 Rescued female from the ocean whilst on patrol at Tannum Sands in February 2010. Femal e had fallen off kayak 400-
500m out into the ocean from the mouth of the river. Nominated by Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club for a
community award. Nominated by OIC POLI for a QPS award.
 Won selection on merit Senior Constable Education and Training Officer Position in 2009.

Principal Responsibilities
 Plan, coordinate and implement training programs in support of improved efficiency and effectiveness of the Police
Service.
 Review and evaluate the effectiveness of all training programs, trainers and participants within the area of responsibility.
 Develop and maintain an education and training system to coordinate the skills and knowledge acquisition of all Service
personnel within the area of responsibility.
 Train or assistin training first year constables in accordance with police objectives developed by Education & Training.
 Assist in the development of plain clothes personnel in the attainment of Detective appointments.
 Coordinate, maintain, develop and deliver operational skills training.
 Provide educational advice to district or establishment personnel that will assistin self-devel opment of skills and
knowledge of career advancement.
 Research and contribute to the development of Service policy and procedures relating to the area of responsibility.
Examples
 Currently coordinate or delegate coordination of First Year Constable (FYC) Ethics and Search Warrants Training,
Investigative Interviewing Training and First Aid Training. Currently coordinating implementation of Supplementary
POST training within patrol group.
 Conduct continual feedback processes with all training programs to improve delivery. Suggestions implemented include
amending time slots for presenters, incorporating expert Detective facilitator for search warrants training to value add,
adding Detective Inspector Halfpenny to the Search warrant training to incorporate a good practice example for
swearing out a warrant with a Justice of the Peace.
 Attended Professional Development (PD) Workshop. Adopted new PD spreadsheet and folder to track ongoing
projects, keep staff up to date with organisational change, track VET updates.
 Deliver FYC Ethics and Search Warrants training following training package guidelines and value adding with expert
facilitators.
 Assisted Plain Clothes Detective obtain Certificate IV Training and Assessment qualifications by assessingtwo
presentations as per requirements. Detective now used as a co-facilitator on each Search Warrant FYC training day.
 Currently coordinating opportunities to improve oral communication for Criminal Investigative Detective by organising
facilitation session with First Year Constable Search Warrant Training Day.
 Currently coordinate, maintain and deliver OST Training being a qualified Instructor.
 Continually provide sound advice to personnel on the changes to job applications and career advancement including
the implementation of the QLD Police Leadership Framework. Not being a Career Planning Officer, but still able to
direct personnel to the website listing trained officers as well as tips including self-assessment tools available under
QPL Framework through the intranet.
 Keep abreast of workplace changes and strategic direction including assessment of management and operational
services, creation of Public Safety Business Agency (PSBA) and the ongoing legislation changes as a result and keeping
up to date through the FAQ intranet page, HR Herald, newly created Education Training Command newsletter, Program
Field Training Officer newsletter and the Public Safety newsletter updates. Proactively joined Yammer internal social
network to determine suitability for a training communication. Joined groups like Public Safety Innovation Space and
Library Services. This outcome ensures positive champion of change and assistingothers to embrace change,
