HOT POTATOES - HOW WE WENT ABOUT THIS TASK
This assignment is aimed at 5th formers with a beginner level of English.
The exercises designed for this assignment were based on the second unit from the
book: Excellent 3. Once they were finished, the exercises were linked altogether using
the application: the masher.
The aim of this assignment is to make a revision of what was seen in the unit, once it
is covered.
In the first exercise, which was done with JC match, in which the students have to
match the different facilities they may find in a shopping mall with their
corresponding picture. The title for this exercise is: Museum map.
Students will find the name of the facilities on the left column and they have to match
them to their corresponding image, which will be seen on the right column.
For the second exercise, named: the Seven Wonders of the World, the title was
written in the upper part of the page, then we wrote the clue for the students to
guess which of the wonders is the correct one. We proceeded to click on the correct
ones. This exercise was based on the section: Fun facts, in which it deals with the
wonders of nature.
For the next exercise, the one created with Jcloze, we took a text from the unit, from
which 10 words have been deleted. Students are supposed to fill the gaps with them.
As regards the following exercise, for which we used the application Jmix, we made
use of the remaining text in the unit, from which some sentences were taken and the
word order altered. The aim of the activity is for the students to order them.
The last exercise we created was the Jcross. We used this crossword to recycle the
following topic: School subjects.
As was said before, all the activities were linked using: The masher. We clicked on the
activities designed and added them to the same file in order to construct the unit.
On the following pages, You will find attached the Unit 2 of the book (Excellent 2-
Longman-Pearson) that we are going to recycle through these activities.
